sucks that hes missing games early. hes going to be needed this season so hopefully he comes back with a bang...him being out though highlights how shallow we are in the guard department. Whats the deal with fino? would love to see him out there getting some xp early on in the season

There is a whole thread devoted to this

On November 2 is when they announced he would be out for two weeks. So this coming week he should be getting reevaluated. But nothing new has been stated since that Nov 2 announcement.

Is this dude dead? Miami's just sending us guys in free agency who take up cap and never play.

No he looked good and alive at the game lol

He looked bored with not playing but he was engaged with the guys, paying attention during the huddles, etc

We need both Gabe and Vanderbilt back. We need to see if Gabe is just gonna be what he was for Miami last year during the season. If he isn't and can actually shoot 38-40% from three, he's valuable. If not, we should try to move him for Caruso.

Not having a backup 1 and time being given to Christie who still clearly isn't ready isn't helpful, especially as JHS who could be getting some valuable burn right now is also out injured.

So not really

Injury update:

- Gabe Vincent (left knee effusion) will be re-evaluated once again in 2 weeks as he continues his rehabilitation.

- Jalen Hood-Schifino (right patella contusion) started a return-to-play progression after his own re-evaluation by team medical staff.

Not this another 2 weeks re-evualation... Hope this don't turned into Nunn 2.0.

This is the 2nd time in a couple years that the Lakers let Shro go then signed a Heat PG that the Heat seemingly let go for cheaper than perceived value after a dazzling playoff performance because the Lakers paid more. I sure hope it turns out differently than it did with Nunn.

Gabe has been a disaster.
I was routing for him. I still am.
But chances are, he's like Josh Richardson. He just plays better in Miami's system as opposed to anywhere else.

The issue is that I don’t even know if he is a disaster given how little he played. I hate to write off players without seeing how they perform. All I can say is DS lighting it up, and we really missed him. DS allows AR and DLO to play off ball

I have been backing the signing heavily, but I admit so far it is horrid.

He needs to get healthy, get back in the lineup and play up to his contract.

Wish that 3 point shooting percentage was higher.

They should have kept Schroeder. Many didn't like Dennis but he gave fantastic effort on defense for Ham, and played with injuries. Really tough little guy who was ver important in that last years success. Lakers sometime don't see the value of certain players. They did the same with Caruso, just to push getting Westbrook. Now they're looking to worsen the team by looking at Lavine. Who is in the FO that thinks you have to make changes for the sake of change. Look at the guys you have and make careful evaluations instead of knee jerk reactions.

Denis situation is worlds different than Alex Caruso. Caruso was and still is a bench player who got destroyed by Booker and was injured his last year to boot when his deal came up. Hell people don’t watch bulls games, Caruso got them eliminated last year with boenhead moves in their postseason 😂 … he was nice but he was not Rondo in the bubble and he damn sure wasn’t kick when pope went down in the playoffs

Dennis got offered 2M per year and a starting job. There’s no scenario where that is the same. You would either have to tell Russell don’t comeback or that he would be starting at the 2 and tell AR you go be the sixth man or sf in the same free agency. Russell was not taking a cut to backup Denis too and you can’t replace Dlo once you use the exemption on Denis. Denis wasn’t going to backup Dlo if he didn’t have to. And AR isn’t giving you a discount to be told hey you had a great playoffs, not come off the bench in restricted free agency. It just wasn’t viable.

The only scenario you keep Russell on a discount, have reaves take a lower offer sheet, and get Denis is Vanvleet doesn’t get maxed out. The only way you can get Denis now is some wonky way of dealing Gabe to Toronto with deals and incentives. And Denis is outplaying AR now, he’s not outplaying Dlo, but even in a magical trade world good luck saying you’re the bench guy or not closing

Give the guy a chance. He was hurt and then got hurt again. Lets see what he does once he gets his legs. Very under rated defender, smart, and can occasionally light it up from the outside.

Bruh. Gabe's shooting splits are 39/7/50. He's only played 4 games. He's hurt. And he's out for at least 2 more weeks. If that's not a disaster. What is?

Agreed, it’s just awful right now. And this injury is giving me bad vibes, feel like it’s going to crawl on and on. Assuming he gets healthy, he can turn it around, but there’s only a few rotations where I think he actually makes sense. And I’m not sure Ham will utilize any of those.
