It's only been a few games, but Reddish may be a mini-revelation. He almost reminds me a little of Trevor Ariza the way he's active on defense and runs the floor on the fast break.

Cam currently leading the team in steals.

Remember when Kobe gave Ariza a shooting routine then Trevor lit teams up from downtown in 2009 en route to #15? I need Ariza to pass that routine to Cam.

Good comparison for Cam.

Cam+Vando is fun. Hopefully Vincent can be that elite POA defender Dennis was last season

Hawks fans are laughing at the Cam hype. They say Cam will show flashes of star potential one week, then disappear for a month. Fortunately, they have Jarred returning soon to take over the starting spot.

Always been the rap on Cam... Reason he has bounced around. Hawks was also expecting him to become a borderline allstar caliber player.

We don't have that same expectation here for Cam. A lot of us here just wants him to become a solid rotational role player. I think Cam so far are exceeding some expectations here.

Yep, the Lakers can afford to absorb any inconsistent play better too! We can be more patience with Cam since Vand/Vinc are on the team assuming they’ll be back at some point.

There's only one word that adequately responds to them... so? Really, who cares what they think?

Their management traded away an athletic player who was merely 22 years old (but with some upside) in large part because he was still undeveloped. There was little chance he could develop significantly in Atlanta because they had easily more forwards on their team two seasons ago than any other squad in the league. The Hawk were also fighting for playoff contention which meant they had less interest in spending significant time improving the youngsters.

When he was traded away, Reddish had been shooting 38% from the three point line and 90% from the FT line. He had the defensive energy back then as well, so their loss is our (eventual) gain.

Every reporter just asking Cam same question every game, how comfortable are you out there? Cam repeating the same answers every game. Like stop it, he’s comfortable.

He's found his spot on this team and feels like he's finding his role in this league. Be a defensive force who can get out and run. if he's hitting the 3 point shot consistently, he's a huge piece come playoffs. Our wing depth is (finally) legit. Rui, Prince, Vando, Reddish.. $$$

Monk (2022)
Schroder (2023)

Looks like the Cam is the next in line to earn himself a payday from the Lakers opportunity.

His goal should be consistency now, he has all the talent. He keeps bringing it on D every night that alone is a big deal because he can score enough to keep teams honest. Love this dude.

I think the exciting part about Reddish is that he’s good enough to score 15-20pts any time he wants but he wants to establish himself as a defensive master

Man, I hate to think about it. It could be two next year in both Cam and Wood. Hopefully we can split the MLE and keep both.

Kinda weak that Lebron and AD kept chucking against a bad tram instead of rewarding a wide open Cam in the corner.

Getting a lot for our money and maybe this really sparks Cam's career. But where you end up playing and who you play with makes such a difference. Guys with a checkered past or bottom of the roster on losing teams, it gets discouraging and a lot of these guys have their games suffer. They are not at Duke or wherever playing half a dozen games against tough competition anymore. Get drafted high, usually to a bad team, and two years later you are called a bust.

Cam ends up on the Lakers, a team good at bringing out the best in some of these guys like Monk, Schroder, etc. Now Wood and Cam are playing meaningful but secondary roles on a team with a passer like Lebron and DLO and a legit bigman in Davis protecting the paint.

I know its crazy asking these guys to stick around, but if Wood and/or Cam decide to stick out another year until the Lakers can pay them more money, they might be a lot happier in the end.
