Holy (bleep). The potential is scary. Pick your poison.

Tonight's stats.

Luka 29 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds
LeBron 25 points, 8 assists. 6 rebounds
Austin 31 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds

Nonsense. AR can’t play with Lebron and Luka.

In retrospect, it's hilarious that DLO was the starting PG for the last two years when we have Austin. The best decision JJ has made this season was benching DLO, starting Max, and cultivating Austin's on-ball ability.

Great game by them, and Reaves in particular. Really responded to a must win game for playoff seeding implication.

BUT:

The only issue with these sort of individual assessments is that they don't take the entire sample into account. If you want to really asses, you have to take into account the team's record since Luka/Lebron/Reaves all began playing together, the offense and defensive metrics, the w-l record etc.

The league has become 1 on 1 guards taking turns, it's been rampant all over. That doesn't mean you win a title with little defense and guards taking turns offense. At this point, we're not a re-build team where getting to the playoffs with a talented core should be seen as achievement. Houston should celebrate that. I personally don't celebrate that stuff when I know Luka's age/Lebron's age and level. I want #18.

We bled points again. Memphis is on a big losing steak and just fired their coach. The way we're defending at the moment, we won't win a title. My hope for this team is to win a title this year, or at least understand after the playoffs what moves are needed to win a title next year. I also am not sure if a guards taking their turn offense can win you a title in June so when I see Hayes play only 17 min and we winning on small ball with guards taking turns on offense, while the other team puts 127 on us, I'm not sure I'm impressed. As I said, individual numbers are stuff re-build teams boast about. My hopes are that Reaves/Luka/Lebron can do this in the playoffs and win the West.

Reaves was insane. The big 3 looked good. Unfortunately, if it was not for the heroics of Gabe, we may have lost. He hit BIG buckets when we really needed them (team was struggling). Smith also had a very good game.

We're leaking points partly because of roster construction. We have no defensive center so anyteam that has a big center and PF combination threatens us (Edey/JJJ, Gianis/Brook). We also need a good point of attack defender who's good enough to be in the rotation

Our big 3 was great but this was a team win. We had 6 players that all showed up tonight.
