I don't remember seeing that many moving screen fouls in one game in recent memory.

This is why the first guy I wanted when the Lakers were looking for a big was McGee yeah he’s already old but he gives good minutes when he’s on the floor with his low post offense and energy, we needed someone to give AD some time on the bench, the Hayes signing was idiotic because we are pushing for a title this year

I too wanted the Lakers to prioritize a big to unlock more team potential with AD spending some time at PF as a patrolling helper with another body to secure rebounds when AD goes for the block. But please, Rob, no more recycled old Lakers, just find someone else.

You might be giving Hayes a bit too much credit here . . .

A min salary third stringer, he’s a project along with Colin, all good, see which one pans out

Yep!

Injuries slowed his progress down but he has been somewhat of a disappointment, to say the least. It's still early, he may or may not pan out.
I hope it works out for him but, so far, his stats are dismally bad.

Stats:
1.6 PPG, 1.4 RPG, 0.3 BPG

Not just the stats because you cant put up stats with little playing time but agreed with the premise that this dude frankly just plain sucks. An old washed Dwight would have been better than him.

Sheesh, why did y'all build up such expectations in the first place? He looks no different to me than he did last year, he seems to be basically the same player. There's still a chance that he acclimates and finds a groove so I'll remain hopeful, let's give him and Ham/Handy time.

The only time he looks like a competent player is when he runs pick and rolls with DLo and he sets him up for easy finishes lol

even then he missed one yesterday on an action with DLo

Too early to judge a min salary player. still young and have room to grow. Need to be paired with a player that can actually beat there man so his man have to help out. Fundamentally no big man move, his best offensive move from highlight is a hook. If he grab and gather he is too slow in his shot motion and play small for his size if not dunking, so refining his hook shot looks like the best option for now. His help defense is fine and his switching to a small looks fine, just need to work on his offensive arsenal.

Yea Reddish looked useless two weeks ago. I give a fair amount of leeway to young players especially since the Lakers are clearly still implementing their schemes. Hayes has looked very bad but who knows what he'll look like in a few months

I liked a lot of what I saw tonight. He's got tons of energy and exuberance. He just needs to harness that to make sure it doesn't lead him into unnecessary fouls and turnovers.

He moves his feet really well to help defensively and is ready to contest up high. Something we really need.

Some great dunks tonight, he seems to have a lot of raw ability to play this game. Made a really nice drop step to get a score around the defense, if he can do something like that more often then he's going to have to play more.

He had 1 rebound in 20 minutes. Don't let the garbage time dunks fool you

I rather see him being active then being a bum, this was by far his best game as a Laker that’s how bad he’s been

3 blocks too.

If we’re gonna be patient with Cam we should be patient with Hayes who gets pretty limited minutes

Had a nifty spin move and some nice plays. Will wait for him to show some consistency before getting my hopes up, though.

We all know how hard it is to produce when you’re not getting consistent minutes and only asked to play spot minutes.

Remember how ya'll wanted Dereck Lively as a rookie for the Lakers?

Hayes is basically that for us this year.

Best game as a Laker, hope he can keep it up.
Jax has a lot of raw talent and energy, if he can harness those things he could workout for us. Low risk experiment, worth developing.

Have you seen Lively? He is a good basketball player and playable in regular situations. Hayes sucks. Has no awareness.
