What you’re saying, that’s the bottom line regarding the C needs for this last post season. What scares me, actually I’m terrified, is that the kind of common sense…or lack thereof…will continue with Pelnka even with Luka on the team. _________________ When reasonably possible, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. I haven’t seen a completely committed effort by the GM for the last 2 off seasons nor the last 2 trade deadlines. What is going on? |

I have had the same thought for years. Pelinka being in charge scars the crap out of me b/c what should be common bball sense, isn't for him.
He's been in over his head for years. Learning on the job. Which has directly led to us burning so many assets which in turns lead to the crap teams we put around LeBron/AD (Luka) _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' The "smart move" would have been to ignore Alex Len entirely.
Wait on Christian Wood.
If he could play, cool, implement him during the final weeks of the season.
If he couldn't play, okay, injured player exception, and bring in Trey and Koloko as your two centers that you already have chemistry with, continue working them in for the rest of the season, and take that into the Playoffs to backup Hayes.
Simple. And all better ideas than bringing in Alex Len and trusting Kleiber whom hadn't even practiced with the team with Playoff minutes.
The options the Lakers had, without needing to make a darn move, were better than the options they chose making unnecessary ones. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Ignoring Len…or at most just giving him a 10-day…would have been smart I agree. But just waiting on Wood, who hadn’t played all year, would not have been. It needed to have been an 3 prong approach; 1ignoring Len, 2waiting on Wood, and 3something else, for the plan to have been smart.
The ultimate smart move would have been to anticipate the roster deficiency that would exist with the Luka trade while in the process of negotiating it to put a plan in place to implement a fix immediately afterwards. Perhaps had that smart plan been in place then the MWilliams trade could have been done in time to amend it to Knecht/Cam/2ndRP. The point isn’t MWilliams tho, the medical physical concern is scary, the point is to have conceived a better plan than Wood/Koloko/Jemison/Moses and certainly a better plan than just Hayes/Len/Kleber. _________________ When reasonably possible, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. Social media is just like traditional print media. It helps to know a guy's background and track record. Once you know a journalist's MO and lack of credibility it gives good reason to disregard most of what they say. If the person who told you Blake Hinson and JHS shouldn't have been cut is now telling you Christian Wood shouldn't have been cut, it's probably best to ignore. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |
