Stone is trending down big time. I’m pretty happy with what we got out of him but that might be it. 6-2 As.

Dodgers are horrible with this rag tag group of players

6-2 in the 5th… when do the Padres pass us?

Whatever analytics the Dodgers use to project health, they need to throw them out. Their lineup is embarrassing given the payroll. And their chronically injured pitching staff is even worse.

Kiermaier, Ahmed, Biggio, Heyward, Lux (in the 3 hole you kidding me) none of these dudes can hit.

Outman really good rookie year. This year hitting 150.

Thankfully the Padres are losing to the Rockies right now 4-2 in the 7th. Rockies are also threatening with 2 on no out.

Arizona could pass us in the standings too. They are tied with the Padres in the standings and 8-2 in their last 10 (Padres are 9-1).

Buehler had another horrible start in AAA tonight. Didn't make it out of the 4th inning, throwing 86 pitches to get 10 outs. Allowed 7 hits and 3 walks, so he got 10 outs and allowed 10 baserunners. Allowed 4 ER. Did strike out 6, but this isn't just about getting his work in, as he's not injured. This is about trying to get some results. He is just out in the wilderness, it appears.

Buehler will get signed by some team this year but probably not for much money. He needs to get a Bellinger 1 year deal to prove he has anything left.

Buehler, May, Miller…these dudes were supposed to be studs and simply far too many injuries here.

Free agents…Yamamoto, Glasnow. More injuries.

All the pitcher coddling and monitored pitch counts has not helped whatsoever with developing healthy arms.

I actually don’t expect much from Kershaw given his age. Glasnow also has a bad injury history so Dodgers are fortunate they got what they’ve gotten from him so far.

Given that they’ve been pretty good at finding arms in the minor leagues they should def cut back on the free agent pitcher spend

The team was being carried a lot by Glasnow, Stone and Yamamoto early in the season. It’s important that Kershaw pitches like regular season Kershaw because if he doesn’t, this team might end up in 3rd.

Paxton was 8-2 but that record was a fluke. Good thing he got those wins because they are needed now.

This is another reason why I dont believe in the 60 game season. Baseball is a marathon, not a sprint.

60 games is a sprint.

They gave out MVP awards n Cy Young awards for a 60 game sprint which is ridiculous to me.

As we see in a 162 game season, it’s alot harder to maintain a pace over a full 162 games.

Glasnow started hot then fell off. Same with Stone.

Lux started poorly then caught fire.

SD is red hot right now.

We’re in a tailspin.

162 games is a real test. 60 is not.

Per Dave Roberts, Walker Buehler will make one more start with OKC then rejoin #Dodgers rotation.
Bobby Miller has been shut down temporarily due to adductor muscle issue

Didn’t Buehler had a bad outing in his OKC start? That dude is done.

This screams of: “I need one more shot to see if I still got it”. Could be the end. I don’t see what could go right for Walker at this point so quickly. Looks like they’re giving him one final hurrah before they stick a fork in him for the year. Most of us saw this coming, I just didn’t think it would get so ugly and it still sucks to see one of own go through it. He got paid well to do nothing for 2 years though so can’t feel all the way bad.

Buehler hasn’t been Buehler since the sticky icky ban.

I really don’t know the last time Buehler was even good. Looks like before Sep 2021. Basically 3 years ago.

Now I don’t know when was the last time he was the Buehler who blew people away with his 100mph fastball. Must be 2020.

You make excellent point.

I think the guy needs to take a year off and work on ways so he can be effective without the sticky stuff. He needs to reinvent himself. Going out there and getting killed in the minors can't be good for his confidence.

On top of the sticky stuff, he also had his second Tommy John surgery during that time too which certainly didn't help matters.

Buehler seems younger than what he is but he’s already 30. I’d be surprised if the Dodgers resign him. He did have 2 great years and the talent to be a #1 but don’t think it’s going to happen in a Dodger uniform

Dave Roberts said Freddie Freeman could rejoin the Dodgers during their series against the Phillies this week

Any exact return date remains TBD, but Roberts made it sound like it’s trending that way

Quote:
Roberts also said he is hopeful Mookie Betts sill rejoin the Dodgers around Aug. 12-13, roughly

Tommy Edman and Max Muncy are also on track to return at some point after that

Quote:
Yoshinobu Yamamoto threw a 20-pitch bullpen session today, his first since going on the IL with his shoulder injury

Roberts said the team was “excited about his command and velocity”

He threw fastballs, curveballs and splitters

Will Smith and Gavin Lux have switched bodies. Now it's Lux squaring up strikes and hitting them hard, and it's Smith who can only foul off or swing and miss at a hittable strike. I mean, Smith really sucks right now. Average about to hit .250.

If Flaherty wasn’t pitching this would be a loss. And unfortunately this one is still far from over but at least he gave the team a good chance to win (so far).

Flaherty just said "F you, Biggio, I do it myself." A Major League reference, for those who don't know. Oh, and I still hate Dave Roberts. It's absolutely mind-boggling that he won't get Rosario into the lineup, even though we're starting all of Biggio, Kike, Ahmed, Pages, and Heyward over him, none of whom are hitting. The guy is hitting .300 this year. Second year in a row we've traded for him. In our most depleted lineup, he can't play? Why the hell did we trade for him, then, if this manager won't even play him in these circumstances?

Roberts is a joke. There's no amount of "Nick Ahmed can play defense well" justification to play him over Rosario. (Ahmed has a -0.3 WAR this season.) No amount of "Biggio...is Craig Biggio's son?" to justify him playing baseball over Amed Rosario. And Biggio is playing first base for us, for f AT ck's sake!

That was studly. Textbook on how you want to get out of it. Great play by Kike to get the force at home, strikeout, grounder to short.
