They let him throw 110 pitches through 5 2/3. I just don't get it. And we're up by 5. Meanwhile, God forbid we let a guy get through the 5th inning when he's pitching a gem and the guy is at like 75-80 pitches.
Someone, please make it make sense. And no, this isn't complaining just to complain. |

The team is playing 13 days in a row (starting today) and Flaherty is just a rental so the team isn’t as concerned about his future beyond this year.
I still agree with you. I just saw those 2 points raised by other fans. |

Of course the guys getting pulled after 80 pitches still get injured anyway. |

What would be the logic in benching Rojas vs lefties instead of righties?
Let’s see his splits:
Quote: | vs lefties: .741 ops
vs righties: .703 ops |
Guess there’s not that much difference |
Yeah there’s no logic at all because historically Miggy is better vs lefties but I don’t know how else they do it. Rojas does need rest though and I heard on the broadcast that Edman will also play some SS. I would prefer Rosario against lefties over Max TBH. Keeps Max fresh and we get a better ops vs lefties but I think AF envisions Max as an everyday 3B. Kike also ends up being our backup CF if Pages is gone and perhaps plays CF when Rojas rests and Edman plays SS.

I'm a cardinal fan first, who has followed Flaherty off the team and around the league. I've been forced to watch the Detroit Tigers! They were running some kind of 6 man rotation, so Flaherty has pitched more innings than last year but in fewer games. He probably is much more rested than you'd think looking at his innings pitched.
Can't say the same for whomever else you have pitching, and what they've been going through, or what specific incident you're referring to. I haven't followed Dodgers too much, but maybe that could explain this one instance. Or the manager is just not great, which is a complaint I have heard a lot from other dodger fans.
Anyway good luck everybody, hope Flaherty stays, I think he likes being home and he's going to be good for a while. |

Basically it goes against everything the Dodgers believe in by leaving him out there. We have had guys with a low PC get pulled in the 4th/5th routinely only to blow the game by putting our BP in. The difference is Flaherty is a rental I guess so they plan to leave him out there and not really think about the future. At least that’s what it seems like.
It will be hard to keep him because he’s going to demand a sizeable contract most likely and we have so many injured guys who we have under control returning next year. There’s literally 0 space but let’s see.
I wanted the Dodgers to take a chance on him this year over Paxton. We paid Pax the same $ as him. In an ideal world (lol) I wish we gave Jack a 2/30 deal but nobody really believed in him after last year.
Either way it’s been a great comeback and I’m sure a as Flaherty fan you are very happy for him. Hope he breaks the bank and finds a good team to pitch for even if it isn’t us. |

Feel like the rental thing is key. We love riding our rentals (Scherzer, Lynn). |

Sounds so cruel. Since they are rentals who cares if their arm goes out. I know at the end of the day it's business but damn.
I guess it's not as bad as the Angels riding Ohtani's arm last year since they knew he wasn't coming back. |

I hope we can keep Flaherty, wonder if he would take a little less to stay here? _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

So Heyward goes to the bench and Miggy will play SS. Looks like we are finally prioritizing the D.
Ohtani DH
Betts RF
Freeman 1B
Teo LF
Will C
Max 3B
Lux 2B
Miggy 3B
Edman CF
Kike, Heyward, ct3, Rosario, Barnes off the bench. Rosario and one of Kike/Ct3 will platoon with Max and Lux.

I am not familiar with pre 88 Dodgers so I didn't know Dusty Baker was considered a Dodger legend. Why did the fans boo him when the all star game was held here in Los Angele? |

Because at the time Dusty managed the Cheatstros and back in the day the hated Giants with Barroids Bonds. So no fault of his own really but he's been associated with the 2 scummiest rivals of our Dodgers. |

I would say legend is a bit of hyperbole. He was a very good player, one of the four Dodgers to hit 30 HR's in a season in 1977 (Cey 30, Garvey 33, Smith 32), and hit .281 with 144 HR's in 8 seasons with a 117 OPS+ (some would say, not so good) and one gold glove for the team. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Ah I see. The way they were talking about him before and during the game gave me that impression.
One cool story I heard Orel saying was that when they took the picture with the 4 who hit 30 HR's, Dusty had 29 with 1 more game to go. Lasorda told him to take the pic anyway and next day which was the final game he hit his 30th. |

Gave me Bellinger flash backs when I saw that catch. I remember Belli would catch anything hit to center field. |

We got some good defenders out there today. Minus Kike. LOL. 1 error and another one could have been an error but they ruled it a hit. |
