Our staff is essentially Yamamoto and Flaherty. We’ll either have to use bullpen games (guaranteeing an eventual flameout as our top arms falter under the pressurized workload) or hope other starters provide miraculous spot starts.
Or our offense simply has to run the table to where it doesn’t matter who we throw out. |

Arizona lost and remains 5 games out, but the Padres are up 4-0 in the 9th and are poised to move into 2nd place, 4.5 back. (And with the tiebreaker over us and 3 left to play against us.) |

It was bad enough without seeing it in black and white. But we can't escape it: The truth does hurt. Still, for me anyway, it has been a mostly fun season. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

September 18th would probably be the last day one of our guys could come back and record 3 starts.
This goes for Glas/Kersh/Stone.
September 24th would be the last day to come back and record 2 starts before the post-season.
Seems most likely all 3 guys will miss the 3 start mark. |

Yeah, I've enjoyed the season as well. Lots to be thankful for this year:
Quote: | Giving thanks to:
- I've enjoyed Ohtani immensely.
- I'm glad Yamamoto worked out and is not a bust.
- I'm glad we're in the playoffs again.
- I enjoyed us killing it at the trade deadline.
- I'm glad for our new top 100 prospects: (Jackson Ferris, Alex Freeland, Josue de Paula)
- Teoscar has been a great pickup (opposite of Peralta last year)
- I'm happy that Gavin Stone turned it around this year.
- I'm glad that Muncy seems to be working out at 3B.
- I'm appreciative of the year Vesia has given us.
- I'm still amazed at our ability to turn around struggling relievers: Banda, Kopech, Honeywell
- I'm grateful for the 2 years that Miguel Rojas has given us as our starting SS. It's been a shot in the arm
- I'm glad that Barnes has managed to have a positive WAR this year and is hitting above .250
- I'm extremely happy, surprised, and shocked that Lux was able to turn his season around in the 2nd half.
- I'm extremely appreciative of the year Daniel Hudson's given us after almost calling it quits last year. |

Tyler Glasnow has a “sprained elbow,” Dave Roberts said. His return this season is “highly unlikely.” |

Now the Game 3 starter is wide open, let alone a 4th starter. Stone? Kershaw? Gonsolin? Knack? I would genuinely rather start Jackson Ferris in a playoff game, as opposed to Buehler or Miller. |

I still have faith in this team. This year's team just feels so special. We got this. |

Flaherty and Yamamoto need to be lights out. Doable but man the margin of error is razor thin. Offense has to be on point. _________________ KOBE |

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Going to be interesting.
Honestly we had no real starters last year. We have 2 aces up our sleeves this time. I’ll take it.
Stone HAS to come back now. |

Double plays are so deflating. Especially when Ohtani is on base. We don't get to see the steal.
Also Teo got a bit too greedy there. But I love the aggressiveness. |

Yes. Even with Glosnow out we are still in better shape than we were last year. |

I swear, we’ve been cursed since 2020.
2020:
In 2020, we were the healthiest team. Pretty much stayed healthy the entire year + playoffs.
2021:
We started off with an amazing collection of starting pitchers:
Quote: | 1) Buehler
2) Bauer
3) Urias
4) Kershaw
5) Dustin May
6) Gonsolin
7) Price
- Bauer got into trouble.
- Kershaw got hurt by the end of the season.
- Dustin May blew out his arm
- Gonsolin I forget what was his issue
- Buehler - this was the yr they banned the sticky stuff and Buehler’s velocity dropped to 95-96mph.
- We acquired Scherzer at the traded deadline.
- By the end of the yr, it was Urias, Schezer, Buehler and 2 BP games.
- Scherzer got a dead arm in the playoffs while playoff Buehler was no more.
|
2022:
This is the yr we went cheap. We started out the yr with:
Quote: | 1) Buehler
2) Urias
3) Kershaw
4) Gonsolin
5) Heaney
6) Tyler Anderson
7) Price
8) Bauer
- Buehler struggled early then blew out his elbow at the beginning of the yr
- Gonsolin was our ace then had some mysterious injury that hampered him in the playoffs
- I think Kershaw got hurt again before the playoffs. I forget. This is the yr we lost to San Diego in the playoffs.
- Heaney n Anderson were great.
- Urias became our ace that year
|
2023:
We all remember what happened last yr
2024:
Same thing playing out this year! |

Our defense needs to clean it up. Mookie missed one (it was a tough one but he had it in his glove) and Rojas bobbles the ball which would have been a dp.
Shut Flaherty down. His pitch count is up there. |
