I do feel he's Dallas bound as well with the $$ they can offer and sitting behind the Mavs bench tonight.

I think if they can get him on the buyout market it's a no brainer. Though I do worry that with Gabe and Cam both coming back, the guard minutes will be scarce. Cam and Gabe will have a role for defense, and Max will be the middle ground. I do fear that Reaves and DLO already have the scoring no defense guard role filled though, and wonder how the minute distribution is going to work.

If you can sign him in the buyout market though without giving anything up, you have to do it. He provides depth, if nothing else. And when he gets it going, he could be valuable. And if Gabe doesn't make it back, he could be essential.

Gabe ain't coming back.

He's gonna be re-evaluated.
Then he's gonna need several weeks of practice to get himself in NBA shape.
Then he's gonna start running the 5-on-5s.
Then he's going to have knee issues again.
Then he's gonna be shut down for the rest of the year.

Then he's gonna come into next season, play 15 games where he makes minimal impact.
Then he's going to be traded at the trade deadline.
And then the following season he's going to be playing overseas.

I don't like it. Dinwiddie is a career 33.1% 3-point shooter and is at 32.0% this season on high volume. He would make our biggest weakness even worse.

I'd rather have Kyle Lowry. At least he's still shooting the 3-ball well.

Have you seen Lowry play at least 3 games this season ?

I know Lowry is over the hill, but I just don't like the idea of getting a guy who is such a bad 3-point shooter like Dinwiddie.

How about Marcus Morris instead of Dinwiddie or Lowry?

Morris has battled a foot injury since the start of the year

Lowry had issues staying in shape and being upset he wasn’t a starter

OK, but how does it make sense to add a guy who makes no more than one-third of his 3-pointers when we're already a bad 3-point shooting team?

Spencer's last like on twitter

Well we know where he wants to be. And we could use him, 13 points off the bench with high assist low turnover as a point guard is very needed especially as I don't expect Gabe to play again this season, or if he does it will be 2-3 games at most.

Need him: Great insurance and backup for D'Lo with the athleticism and streakiness that can win some important playoff games. Also has a good/decent playoff track record and just seems to have that Kyrie-esque different, almost weird personality that is mixed with a lights are seemingly never too bright confidence that seems to be a fit for playoff ball.

Agree. He's a guy who could get hot in a playoff game and win a game for you like Lonnie did.

Definitely needed while Gabe is indisposed for the rest of the season.

Im willing to bet a lot of money that SD ends up signing with us.

Think Lakers will see him signing on as insurance in case DLO bolts this summer for nothing as well

Because the game is more than 3 pointers. We also don't need to play him crazy minutes. Its worth it for the tiny cost.

Seems like he's for sure going to the Mavs. He sat behind their bench last night. No brainer. I think we can move on....

But I think he can get more mins with the Lakers based on all the injuries. Plus, who wants to play in crappy Dallas versus LA?

Spencer loves the Lakers, has always wanted to be a Laker, has a home in California, has family in both Northern and Southern California. And would be a perfect fit here and guaranteed minutes with the absence of Gabe all year.

Not to mention liking tweets talking about what he'll do as a Laker. It's up to the Lakers to nail the pitch.
