Just start the rebuild (bleep). |
Start the rebuild with who? The same FO faulkers who built this team? What on earth would lead you to believe that’s the best course of action based on how they’ve done so far?
IMO the best course of action is to hope LBJ/AD bail out the malpracticing efforts we’ve seen so far from the FO. If another Owner/GM was present then perhaps a rebuild would be feasible but atm Rob can’t make an acquisition to build a championship contender with two of the best players in the NBA. I don’t trust him to do it from scratch.
The Lakers look screwed either way, they look less screwed with AD/LBJ. _________________ “When it looks as if it is a realistic possibility, I want to focus on winning a ship like it’s a goal that can’t be denied. I didn’t see that this off season.” |

Well, considering the Pels deferred the 2024 pick after I made that statement, they can't exactly rebuild now, so we're stuck with our current roster for at least one more year. In the past, I've advocated for moving on from Bron and doing a soft rebuild around AD, but that will only yield the same outcome as the previous seasons, as well as delay the inevitable rebuild.
After the Pels take the pick next year, the goal should be to tank for a Luka Doncic or Wemby caliber player. That's pretty much the only hope they have of rising to the top given how dismal the free agency landscape is these days. All the megastars will be locked up due to the supermax. I say this because even Spida of all people decided to stay in Cleveland, so none of this "attract a free agent star" thing works anymore. There is no incentive for stars to move to "premiere" destinations.
It's all about drafting well, hiring the right trainers and coaches. Too bad Rob will wait 5 years to do this. Redick might not even be the coach after next season. This whole franchise is a joke and a laughingstock. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.
Starting anew. I'm retiring my main. |
