lots of reasons:
1. she wouldn't talk to the cops or anyone else about it
2. she was over the age of consent
3. he met her at a bar, where she apparently used a fake ID. The assumption being that she's over 18 anyway
4. and again, #2 above
and, just to be clear - he didn't date her. They met at the bar and she went home with him
