No way they wanted this match up first round, right?

Because not only is it against NBA regulations to lose a meaningful game on purpose it’s also dishonorable and shows a loser’s mentality. Also, there was no guarantee that the Lakers would beat either GSW (0-3 last few games), or Sac (swept by them this year).

Worse than courageously facing the challenge of playing Denver again and losing with honor would have been a cowardly attempt to avoid Denver and then losing to Sacramento anyway. Both Den and Sac posed the similar challenge of facing an opponent the Lakers haven’t been able to beat. A loser is a loser, I get that, but a loser that runs away is a coward. Sure, it can be said that he who runs away lives to fight another day but I believe Karma would have taken care of the cowardly loser mentality the Lakers would have displayed to avoid Denver by then embarrassing them even more with a blow out loss to the Kings to miss the playoffs.

It’s a bad philosophy, not only for basketball but also for life.

Would be surprised if this game wasn't a blowout early. They know it's over and if they couldn't show pride last year and win at least one by playing desperate why would this year be any different?

They can let it be over or they can be strange that way — wouldn't be the first team to come back from being down 3-0.

To date, there has never been a successful comeback from a 3–0 series deficit in the NBA. Of the 153 times (as of April 26, 2024) an NBA team fell into a 3–0 deficit, only 4 of them (~3%) forced a game seven where they ultimately lost.

Cant believe the Lakers are going to get swept a second time. This is unprecedented.

A 7th seed getting swept by the best team in the league is unprecedented? Everyone outside of Lakers fans thought a lot had to go right for us and a lot had to go wrong for Denver just for us to even win one game lol.

They are in another tier as a team. We can talk about adjustments and all that noise…the real difference in the 2nd half is Jokic simply decides to be more aggressive and it’s curtains for our inferior roster

Christian Wood is available to play tonight, per Darvin Ham. He has been out of the lineup since Feb. 14 with a knee injury.

Reggie Jackson hurt his ankle in Game 3, but Malone said he thinks he’s trending in the right direction towards playing.

Purposely avoiding Denver in the hopes that some other team takes them out for the Lakers is called strategy, not cowardice. The Lakers might have even won the West if the strategy worked.

Instead, the Lakers are the laughing stock of the NBA world.

I dont think more than 2 or 3 players on this team have the balls to actually show any fight today. They will likely just go thru the motions and get ready to see what team they'll be playing for next season.

The Organization has ZERO loyalty to the players, so in kind, the players not named Lebron or AD don't give 2 shtts either.

ANOTHER summer of musical chairs. What a joke.

I predicted Denver in 5 and I said Lakers would win game 4 out of pity and Denver would close it out at home. Let's see if I'm right.
