How do you finish -53 on a 50-win team?
This game today is a little bit more soft, to call anybody a GOAT nowadays is disrespectful to ... the awards and accolades [MJI and Kobe have won.
Interesting that JJ said he didn't choose AD for all-defense because he heavily weighed the teams defensive performance, yet he had Alex Caruso on his list while the Bulls were 22nd in defensive rating and the lakers were 17th.

He needs to just stop talking about that until people ultimately forget about it because none of the explanations he's given have entirely made sense. Just take advantage of social media addled short memories JJ and just let that one go lol
As the Lakers finalize their staffing, the name Iām hearing is Clippers development coordinator Beau Levesque - well regarded for his on-court work with players and his organization.

JJ is one of those people that can't say "I effed up. He should have been on there." whether or not that bodes well for him as a Coach remains to be seen, but it's not a good sign. Let's hope he listens to his staff when the point out the other times he effs up.
@SixthManJake
Just spoke to people at Summer League and the Lakers are also hiring Clippers development coordinator Beau Levesque to JJ Redickās staff.
I just love that the Lakers/Dodgers fans are one in the same.
The memory of CP3 and PG getting boo'd at Dodgers Stadium still brings a smile to my face.
Also, JJ's defense of his AD omission is horsesh!t. Just admit you really didn't see one of the best NBA defenders I personally have ever seen actually play. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.

On another note, great to see Lindsey join the staff.
Yup it was a massive screw up and exposed how much he really knows. JJās entire identity as a high IQ ex player/coach is a farce. He leveraged social media and engagement to make people think heās smart. Only our FO is stipid enough to fall for it. So yeah to him saying āI screwed up and AD should have been thereā would be like an admission that heās an average ex player and not some brilliant savant.
^Yup, JJ clearly doesnāt deserve a vote in defensive awards. Now that heās coach, his bid to vote as a media member ends and dude no longer can embarrass himself.
Btw is it considered āpoliticalā if dudeās presidential bid en.ds? Asking for a fan that can vote.
Times is truly getting redickulous. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

Some 2-man/ 3-man pairings I'd like to see more of:
Russell/ Reaves/ Vando: Let Vanderbilt cover defensive deficiencies
Russell/ Christie: Christie makes up for Russell's poor rebounding & defense; Russell makes up for Christie's limited offense
Russell/ LeBron: +9.5 two man rating or something like that, +7 without AD
Vincent/ Reaves/ Rui: Vincent can alleviate some playmaking burden Reaves when LeBron & DLO are resting (if they're playing together). Rui gives you another featured offensive player
LeBron/ AD/ Wood: Lots of size, length, rebounding, shot blocking. +23 rating. They were terrible without LeBron and they were much better with DLO, implying shot creation is necessary.
I feel like this starts to give you the contours of a rotation.

Redick has spoken at length about the emphasis on player development within the Lakers organization and to that end they have reportedly hired Ty Abbott as their new lead development player coach, his agency CSE announced.
Abbott spent the past four years with the Chicago Bulls, starting out as a player development coordinator before being promoted to a player development coach. Prior to that, Abbott worked for the Philadelphia 76ers as a player development associate after getting his start with their G League affiliate the Delaware Blue Coats.
He had some crossover with Redick during their time in Philadelphia, which likely created the relationship that led to this hiring.

Anyone know of any success stories under him?
Yeah, the Chicago Bulls are known for their player development. Seems like some dude JJ picked up. Let's hope he's an undiscovered genius, like JJ.

I don't know why but JJ seems to me will be a very successful coach for the Lakers for years.
He has very good ideas and understanding of the game. Coaching takes more than just being smart so he has to listen to the ones that actually have coached on his staff. He could be really good. It's up to him to listen and continue to learn. That was Luke and Ham's problem they refused to do either. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
