LOL. West died as an employee of the Clippers. Lakers did what was appropriate. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

Lakers embarrassed themselves today. But that’s par for the course at this point. Tone deaf and clueless. _________________ 17 time World Champions |

They're doing a nice thing in honor of West rn on Spectrum. They just said when they went to commercial they're gonna have a big game James obviously and Phil Jackson. |

West was Mr. Laker. He will be Mr. Laker long after his passing. Orchestrated 8 rings, got us Kobe and Shaq. Did it all as a player and executive.
Just because the organization is filled with backstabbing snakes, incompetent buffoons and klutch goons at every level, it doesn't lessen his impact on the organization. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.

RIP Jerry. One of the greatest basketball minds ever
It's a damn shame this man wasn't a part of the Lakers org. |

Just remember what the organization did to all those longtime Lakers employees once the old man died. Its no mistake that Lakers are finding it hard these days to get good coaching. Its karma for the way they've been treating people. |

NO.
If you ask anyone who you associate Jerry West with it is the Lakers.
Jerry West is a LAKER.
Our owner is an idiot. This was an opportunity for her to do something nice for the fan base and show that she didn't forget how to appreciate the people who made the Lakers.
Typical dumas Jeanie. Another check on the failure list after the Hurley dud |

EDIT: seeing Riles' statement makes it hurt more. The org has lost so much class. |
Jeanie is getting into the Frank McCourt level of owner. Tone deaf, no class. I don’t care if Jerry and Jeanie hated each other. Given what Jerry gave to the organization you have to give him as big of memorial as possible.
Jerry West to the Lakers is what Steve Jobs was to Apple.
It’s incomprehensible for the Lakers to act this way |

Took her 12 hours to post that?
Idiot.
Too involved in women in wrestling venture or hanging out with her dingy friend Linda Rambis. |

Agreed man....and it feels like even this was like pulling teeth for her to post this. One of those messages that seems genuine upon first glance but really isnt. |

Her true colors were on display and loud and clear today. There should be a championship level celebration in the streets the day she’s no longer the owner. She should be ashamed of herself the way she treated Jerry for so many years. Today was just the final slap in the face. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

Sorry just reminded me of Caesar vs Pompey and how Caesar genuinely felt enraged when he saw what happened to Pompey in Egypt. Real understands real and knows when to give respect even amongst enemies and there is no way there was even close to the enmity between West and Jeanie than literal enemies on the battlefield fighting to become the most powerful man in the world at the time like Caesar and Pompey. Then again this is Julius Caesar we are talking about. Comparing the quality of person/capabilities between Caesar and Jeanie Buss is as big of a gap as you can possibly get. |

To be such a great all-time player and then an even better executive. |

People grieve in different ways, so I'm not going to criticsize or analyze the personal element. But professionally, not great. |

One of a few true wizards to ever grace sports. The Lakers have been lucky to have had several of them in the organization at any time. F their management for disgracing him when he was still alive. The brand weakened when we lost him. _________________ http://chickhearn.ytmnd.com/

They should have brought Jerry back at the end.
I’m not sure what happened there and there are obviously some personal issues involved, but he should have finished his career with the Lakers and that was a big mistake that was made by ownership.
He had arguably one of the best careers in all of sports.. |
