Or Beyonce, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, etc.

I think it mostly has to do with the demographics of LG.

Alanis Morissette

Saw a snipit of her performing in a recent concert and she was fantastic. Has not missed a beat to this day.

Kina Grannis - started on YouTube in its early days. Love her.

Christina Bianco - She went viral for impersonating other female singers. An undeniable talent.

Ariana Grande can do the same. Say what you will, but she is mad talented -

And of course, the creme de la creme Whitney Houston. The voice of an angel. Check out what she did to this little baby --

Carole King was a good call by Omar. So smooth and soothing. In that same vein, I'll offer up Rita Coolidge.

I grew with my mom listening to Joni Mitchell. So she is a voice that makes me warm and fuzzy.

Portishead is one of my favorite bands. Beth gibbons live is really good.

Eryka badu

Just throwing some stuff out there since we're posting videos.

I mentioned Morgan James before:

I've become a fan of Tori Kelly's voice. Saw her live last month when she (and John Legend) guested on a song at a Jacob Collier concert. Here's from that concert (not my video):

Finally Diane Birch, whose voice has a certain quality I love:

As a songwriter, she is one of the best, and though women hate to hear it this way, she is probably the greatest woman songwriter, at least musically--no woman touches Joni lyrically. Her catalog, with her solo career and with her ex-husband Gerry Goffin, is most impressive.

I like seeing all the Linda Ronstadt love, I always felt she was actually underrated as she put out some great albums in the 70's especially.

Some of my other favorites besides Linda:

Courtney Barnett

Dusty Springfield

Susan Tedeschi

Aretha Franklin

Chrissie Hynde

Stevie Nicks

Etta James

Since I forgot someone who has been neglected herein, I will add to my list, Alison Krauss, and make it a Baker's dozen.

Joni Mitchell
Emmylou Harris
PJ Harvey
Dolores O'Riordan

Alison Krauss

For those unfamiliar with this angelic, pitch-perfect voice and fine fiddlin' ta boot, here she is with one of her bands, Union Station (think of the "hit song" from O Brother where art thou?) with harmonies to pierce the soul, and with the truly extraordinaire, Jerry Douglas on Dobro:

I actually appreciate her ability to craft a song and use her voice in a way that's not overbearing. As I age, I get tired of the vocal acrobatics that people like Beyonce, Ariana Grande, et. al. indulge in.
