Solid signings. Lots of veteran head coaching experience. Exactly what JJ needs. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
Nate is a good get. Was 183-136 as head coach with Pacers. Mavs wanted him last year as an assistant and he declined. Brooks is a former coach of the year. There's a lot of knowledge and experience there.

I was hoping for one of Atkinson or Stotts to pair with JJ. Gentry would have also been a good hire. I'm just glad that our rookie HC has two experienced ex-HCs to lean on as opposed to Ham and Walton who had zero. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.
Funny thing about McMillan. A really strong argument could be made that HE was the best defender on the Sonics with his insane defensive impact/metrics and not the overrated Gary Payton who got cooked by Robert Pack and Nick Van Exel. Dude as a player was truly a genius on defense....on par with Robert Horry. McMillan backcourt and Horry frontcourt. Both these geniuses however had their rare warts as well. McMillan couldn't do anything with Van Exel either and Horry was a traffic cone who provided little impact defensively against specifically Karl Malone and Tim Duncan. Watching 40 year old Karl post defend Duncan was like watching manna from the heavens as Pelinka described KCP after years of watching Elden Campbell fail against Malone and Horry fail against both Malone and Duncan.

Still hoping they add Gentry.
Have there been many/any staffs with three experienced head coaches as assistants over the years?
I get this might be an exception to the rule with a coach with no experience like JJ
I think Mike Brown? Ettore Messina, Quinn Snyder, Steve Clifford.
Snyder had never been a head coach in the NBA at that point, just NCAA. Same with Clifford— he was a head coach afterward.
Messina was technically coaching consultant, and had never been a head coach in the NBA.
But that Mike Brown coaching staff we had in 2011-2012 was quite good in retrospect. They overachieved with what we had, getting to the #3 seed and making the semifinals against OKC somewhat competitive. The roster was just too flawed. Ironically we were knocked out by a Scott Brooks coached team. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
The Los Angeles Lakers are adding Greg St. Jean as an assistant coach to JJ Redick’s staff, league sources told @hoopshype. He won a championship as part of Frank Vogel’s Lakers staff in 2020 and has since been an assistant coach with Jason Kidd in Dallas and Vogel in Phoenix.
