He finished 1st in the shuttle run drill at the combine. Seems like a gym rate who has some impressive athletic ability. His knees might start giving out in 7 years, but for now, he should be good.

Most likely age. Teams in the lottery usually draft on potential and not experience.

That and a traffic cone on defense.

Ahhhh yes, if he was a lock down defender. You think he would there at #17?

He probably be gone by #7.

Good one.

Rob Pelinka says the Lakers view Dalton Knecht as a 3-and-D wing who will be able to defend 2s and 3s.

Rob Pelinka said coach JJ Redick immediately began drawing up pindowns and ATO sets on a whiteboard for Knecht for next season.

Rob Pelinka said that Dalton Knecht was unanimously ranked inside the top 10 on the draft board for the team’s scouts.

NVM Knecht sucks.

He's too short and no defense.

I want a 6'11 250lbs stud that can play center and PF and go coast to coast for dunks as well as defend the 1 thru 5.

Damn Lakers failed again in the draft.

He's not a traffic cone on defense. He's just not a great defensive player, but he's a workhorse with the athletic ability to improve on that end.

Exactly. Good pick but he doesn't fill our needs. If we could somehow trade him for a center, then it'd be great...lol

Just watching highlights, this guy can finish with his left hand. Even saw a jump shot left handed I think, or push shot. Lol

Yeah this isn’t just an experienced college player with a high floor, I think people are underestimating his ceiling, he just grew into his body and is getting started….

Exactly, slow. He has a long stride but he is slow. They will have to run screens for him. He isn't blowing by anyone in the NBA to get to the hoop.

JJ is so passionate I hope his enthusiasm will be contagious in the locker room. Looks like AR could be on the move, hopefully for a center.

Best complement I could give this pick is it's a little annoying they didn't make a small move up to say 15 to secure him. We didn't have much to give but could you imagine if we just missed him at 16?
