Been impressed by the rate of Bronny’s development. We sort of saw the improvement from Sacramento to Vegas in the summer league and then from the beginning to end of the preseason. There’s clearly potential here to get a deep bench role player by year 3 of this contract if he’s able to tighten up his defense and perimeter shooting. Considering he will be making a few million less than a veteran minimum contract at that point, could see some value here. It’s just G League games but he can clearly hold his own. The experiment here was can you take a kid who showed potential in high school, with athleticism and pedigree and turn him into an NBA player faster than a college program. If he buys in to the grind, seems like making his development his full time job may have actually been the right move. People hammered Lebron for this but maybe he knows what is best for his son more than fans do…
Bronny has never scored 31 in sierra canyon, never scored 31 in USC. He is trending up and that’s pretty impressive. In the small samples of g league games, he is shooting 45% from the 3
"I am having fun. Any time I'm playing basketball, any time I'm out here breathing, any time I'm out here walking ... I'm grateful for everything."-Bronny
People forget the kid had a cardiac arrest last year... This is pretty much his College development year. Last year at USC he was still recovering.
still kinda concerned his 3s seem to be off the dribble and not C&S
or maybe my impression is wrong
Nah, I think catch and shoot is something that will come easier than what he did tonight. They are developing him into a point guard so he will need to be able to make the shots he made tonight.
He looks a lot more comfortable with the ball in his hands than he did in summer league. I was worried he’d be more of an undersized 2 which would hurt his potential imo. I would consider him a large PG Though considering his frame and strength.
Someone hit the nail on the head when they said 3 years. He’s gonna develop a lot faster in the program lebron has him on than he would have at USC. I actually think he could make our rotation as soon as next season at the rate he’s developing.
I’d like to see him work on his POA defense, and catch and shoot 3’s. That’s what will get him in a NBA rotation asap. The problem with that is he wouldn’t get many reps as a primary ball handler in that situation…
Maybe South Bay is fine for a few years. Let him continue to develop into a point guard without as much pressure.
I think if you look at Lonzo ball you’ll see that bronny can totally develop into a good NBA player. They both came into the league with the intangibles. Athleticism, IQ, feel for the game, strong family support, work ethic. They are both good kids. Both need work on PG skills and Jumpshot.
Took Lonzo about 3-4 years to rework his jumper. When he came into the league he had never really ran PNR and had to learn it.
Not comparing them as talents because it’s clear Lonzo is the superior talent coming into the NBA, but I think they could have similar careers. Another good player for bronny to watch would be Gabe Vincent. If I was bronny I’d be watching that guy like a hawk.
Proud of bronny. Keep showing the world that you’re more than a gimmick. Make em all look foolish. I know he probably doesn’t care about any of it, but that’s the type of chip you need on your shoulder if you’re gonna be great at anything. _________________ “Cuban would never”
Oh, and being able to go up off one leg, get the ball off the floor quickly using only one hand, and tamahawk flush it at 6’2 is insane. That’s Westbrook type ish _________________ “Cuban would never”
Gotta give him his flower, dude pushing thru with a big bullseye on his back, the total opposite of shrinking _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“
Its just the G League and his development will take time and effort but one has to be impressed with the progress he has made since his inauspicious debut.
If Bronny continues to improve at this rate, in time, he could become a very serviceable NBA player.
That’s pretty good for a #55 pick no matter what your last name is.
He needs to play in more G-League games so his development can continue rather than start/stopping it. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Applies to that JHS kid too, even more _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“
5/11 from 3 is also really good. 31 points is way more than I ever expected him to score at the g league level. I thought we're stashing him there for years and he's putting up only high volume numbers without really having many basketball skills. I was wrong.
how's his C&S stroke looking
When I watched his highlights before it seemed like most of his 3s were shots in rhythm after dribbling a lot. That's my main concern about him, his role in the NBA will not be as an on ball creator. And as we saw with JHS the ability to hit step back off the dribble 3s in the G-League doesn't translate (though obviously it's a good sign either way lol)

JHS is a lost cause. Dude is off the team after this season (Lakers declined the two year team option) and will probably get one more chance on a new team to prove it in Summer League (unless he gets injured…again), and then that will be it.
Good for Bronny. Proud of the kid and the overall human being he is becoming. For what he has been through, especially health wise, he’s got a very good head on his shoulders. Lebron did good with him. _________________ LUKA FREAKING DONCIC WHAT IS THIS TIMELINE?!

I think Bron is in his world playing with Bronny. I wonder if they shower together.
Let him play consistent games in the G League. He gets nowhere playing one in every 4 games. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
