Olivari is playing well though. He scored 22 pts. last night. |
Right. But there were some suggesting that Bronny was undeserving and denying Olivari an opportunity. So it's somewhat ironic that Bronny has been just as good and at times better than him especially since he's younger with less experience. May ultimately end up the better player but still too early to determine. |
Yeah I was one of those critics. At this stage it's a close call between them, your assessment is spot on IMO. |
Wasn't trying to single anyone out. I appreciate how you are open minded enough to adjust your opinion. Could use more of that on here. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

called it almost a year ago before he was even drafted

No. Bronny is being expected to boost G-League sales. Whomever drafts him understands going in he's going to spend the first few years of his career in the G-League. They aren't wasting a first round pick on that. |
Lakers did it with JHS |
Bronny will get more minutes than JHS next year and not because of his last name. I'm not sure there's anything JHS is better than Bronny at aside from hairstyle variation. |

His jump shot reminds me of LeBron's. There's some off balance nature to it that reminds me of his dad |

He hit a no-dip three in the corner. Bodes well for his future as a spot up guy. |

54th, 53rd, 52nd... what about 30th, 29th, 28th pick, etc. Who else is average around 22 pts in the G-league? All the haters and "experts"... name me the pick after 55 or the undrafted player you'd rather have. Who's career did Bronny unfairly took away? Mac McClung and Kevin Knox are averaging 24 and 25 points in the G-League
Bronny is definitely improving but know what kind of players score 22 points in the G-League.
ETA: I think the NIL money f*cked the quality of the G-League |

But how old are those guys? You named a few G-League hall of famers. LOL! And this would be goal post moving, since many here would laugh at the idea that Bronny would average over 20 pts, even in the G-league. The kid is coming along nicely. I mean people around here was 100% sure he stole someone's spot, someone more deserving. Who are those more deserving players that we passed up, and how are they doing in the G-league? _________________ Westside Knecht gang, Knecht gang, bing-bing bang! |

How’s Bronny compared to the other 2024 round 2 pick 40-60? _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

Ighodaro gets a minute or two on the Suns. Post is starting for GS but that's a little Kerr smoke and mirrors. Bona plays a bit for the 76ers because everyone's injured.
That's pretty much it. Also, all of these players are older than Bronny. Post is older than Dalton. |

Both of those comparisons are literally grizzled G-League veterans compared to an actual Rookie.. If Bronny is still stuck in the G-league 4-5 Years from now and averaging a point or two more i'd say things were def. not going to well....
I'd say Bronny has improved tremendously in just his confidence alone. He still has a ways to go obviously but is way ahead of what most were predicting before the Season started for sure. I haven't seen Knox play for Years tbh outside of some random highlights here and there but Bronny's defensive potential is also clearly much higher then McClung. |

Also, there were reports of Klutch telling teams not to draft Bronny, GS in particular seemed genuinely interested in Bronny as a prospect. It drove me crazy when people pretended like that was all subterfuge or something. Sometimes teams see something in players. People have way too high opinions of their own analysis. And in any case this was the 4th-to-last-pick in the draft.
Obviously the G-League guarantees nothing, JHS was good too (23/5/5 on 47/43/80 splits (65% TS%)). I'm excited to see what he looks like next summer. Does he looks like Max Christie did his second summer league? |

Side note: anyone actually watch any G-League and have an opinion on Bronny's defense? |

I think Bron should sign an extension to match Bronny's timeline. Bronny is improving and is a home-grown product. You gotta love that. |

Bronny's defense is solid. He's not necessarily a lockdown defender but he is heady & crafty.
His athletic ability, quickness and strength allows him to keep players in front of him most of the time.
He recovers fast, rebounds fairly well for his size and his leaping ability (40 inch vertical) allows him to block shots at an efficient rate.
Bronny has good instincts and a high BBIQ but he's still a work in progress as he hones his skills, gains confidence and knowledge. |
