I like how he got more confident as the game went on.

He has to get over this hurdle. He has the microscope on him like he is a first overall or something. I can't remember rookies getting their names chanted on the road ever before. He looks really rushed when he shoots and he defers far too much.

Really nice to see him be put in a position where he is bringing the ball up. Wizards pressed him a few times and he still brought it up.

His touch was still awful but he did get a nice basket and attacked the basket a few times. Got layups but didn't have touch for many of them. Had a nice lob to Koloko too.

The reason he is in the NBA is because of his father and the reason there is so much pressure / spotlight / intrigue on him is because of who his father is.

It’s both a blessing and a curse for the kid.

Only reason he’s even on the team is because of LeGramps,
not an NBA player.

I mean, he looks like an NBA player to me considering the insane amount of pressure and that he's a kid.

Bronny seems like the type to not want to make any enemies and doesn't know how to professionally push his will on the court against these pros yet. He is also at his Dads place of work lol

I think he will come out of his shell.. hopefully..

You could see he knew what he was doing when he attacked the rim and made his shot

Stupid amount of pressure around him
Bron had a chip on his shoulder probably since kindergarten.. always one of the biggest and potentially fiercest students in all grades..

In fairness, he's also a 28 year old with 6 years of NBA experience.

I dont know if teams are rooting for him to score as some sort of mockery or if it's genuine lol.

Never seen anything like it. Either way it's clear to me he's not an NBA player. Dont think he'll ever be one.

His defense to his credit is good. Maybe he could carve out a semi decent career as a 3&D player.

But that will take a lot of work because his shot is broken. he's not even close on his shots. Could be jitters but he's shooting 39% in the G-league as well.

He's an experiment. But he's not even an experiment where if it works out he'll be a difference maker. If it works out he'll be a borderline role player.

Quincy Olivari if it works out could be a sparkplug scorer off the bench.

He was not even a good college player (granted he had issues). Giving this kid a guaranteed contract is criminal.

Colin Cowherd on Bronny James:

“You have to pretend he’s an NBA player or you’ll upset LeBron … The NBA is an unserious league and this continues to be an unserious story.”

Meh. He's not even a top D1 college player,, but the NBA has a storied history of using the 15th roster spot marketing, demographic or nepotism reasons.

Although I think some other players (both on the Lakers and leaguewide) could be offended that Bronny is "taking time" away from more "deserving" players (i.e. better at the present moment), I personally can't be angry at him or LeBron (Dad), and I think a large majority of players leaguewide feel the same way.

LeBron is respected by many as the GOAT, and if not, everyone has tremendous respect for his legacy and longevity.

He is being a Dad. What Dad would not want to do what he can to make his child's dreams come true. This is fatherhood. This is love. If we imagined that LeBron was Kobe, and Kobe urged the Lakers to put a simply "NBA-passable" Gianna on the team, I don't think we'd be complaining.

If you disregard the above, and think that this is not Bronny's dream—that in fact he is being "forced" in any way to play—that's all the more reason not to have any hate for Bronny. As others have said the amount of pressure on him is absolutely insane. We've seen no signs whatsoever that he's egotistical in any way. In fact, the most common critique leveled on him is that he "defers too much."

Again, I can definitely see the other viewpoint. But I think the view I've given here is equally valid. And I would venture many of the players in the league feel the same way.

I could see some resentment happening down the road. Right now, kids have to be quiet. The second Legramps is gone, he is going to have problems.

It will be interesting to see what happens to his career when Dad retires and the Lakers are no longer so invested in him. I think the main problem here, which is what I voiced over the summer, isn’t so much Bronny as a prospect in the context of the 55th pick. It’s more of an issue in the context of a team running on its last fumes with a roster filled with guys that can’t play and then deciding to roster another guy that can’t play. His ceiling is awfully low as it is with his physical profile and skills. It’s best to look at him as LeBron Tax. I still don’t think he’s doing this kid many favors.

in 6 years, Shake will be 34

and he'll still be 10x the player that Bronny will ever be

I'm not sure I understand throwing Bronny in against the Sixers. If he was going to do that, it should have been in the Wizards game.

JJ admitted that it was tough situation to put him in so that is on the coach.

Regardless, on the main squad, no player is shielded from criticism. Play well or like Kobe said: "Ship his ass out" as the Laker standard is championship or bust.

This is why bench players should never complain, people get hurt, and you have to stay ready to perform when your number is called.

I'm very high on Bronny, but he is going to take time to develop. I view it similar to what we are seeing with Max Christie this year.

Kobe also said we only hang championship banners and to deal with it. We now hang ist banners. I guess it’s champ banner.
