Game today showed the issue with Bronny... he's still in high school mode where his athleticism and skills overwhelmed the competition at that level. At USC, he was average and stayed average.

Well, it's the NBA now. Bronny (and the Lakers) need to find out if there's a skill set that can translate to success in the NBA. The hope is that it's the 3 and defense. Neither the 3 nor the defense is Div 1 college level right now, let alone NBA level.

He has a LONG way to go.

Looks the same.
Natural athleticism
Good passing lane instincts
Lacks in man defense (people just shoot over him)
Jumpshot needs work
No point guard skills

All things we already knew from college to now.

Yup, same reasons this was likely a waste of a pick and a 4 year contract

He'll be out of the league the day his father decides to hang it up. Lakers only got him to get daddy to resign with the team.

The best Bronny could hope for would be to either become Gary Payton 2 or Gabe Vincent.

But both of them were far better than him in high school and especially college.

GPII bounced in and out of the g-league for nearly 4 seasons until he found a permanent home. It's that level of perseverance and grit that made him a championship caliber player. In the end, the struggle was worth it, and I can bet you he considered going the overseas route multiple times. No favoritism despite his father being one of the best PGs to ever play the game. Just pure tenacity, grit and hard work.

Bronny needs to struggle before he gets better. Nothing should be handed to him. I get the Lakers gave him the 4 yr contract to appease Bron, but it still sends the wrong message. Make him work for it. The struggle needs to be real and not fabricated. He needs motivation to take it to that next level. Money has a way of killing that, especially when you didn't earn it.

Bronny looked lowkey decent today. Made some swing passes. Very quick moves when he has the ball. He was absolutely a little nervous, as evident by his 0-2 FT performance. I'm interested to see what he loks like in that 2nd Vegas league game. He should feel more comfortable by then.

This is my first time ever seeing a highlight reel of a four point performance.

The most impressive thing about him is his frame and his quick twitch. He’s built like a running back and he can seemingly explode in any direction in a moment. The basketball stuff? Why is this kid not running pick and roll and playing PG? Is his vision that horrible?

Maybe his handles aren’t there? Lack of isolation moves? Also lacking jump shot? You have to be threat of getting to the basket or making a jumper to play P&R, most elite players are both

He's a short SG, life in the NBA would tough on him.

Bronny either is going to need a growth spurt or to become a much better man defender, because his long arms and instincts are GREAT at passing lanes and ball hawking. But he's going to need to be able to time people for steals in man to man (like Marcus Smart does), because otherwise guys are going to get to their spots and just shoot over him all day.

Bronny is out of the next Summer League game with KNEE SWELLING.

Let's hope this does not delay hanging his jersey in the rafters and his election into the HOF after his first NBA or G-League season.

Hope he heals. This will allow him to lay low. He doesn't deserve the entire media conglomerate hyping him up like he's the next Bron. It's so unfair to him.

I have found the media to be actually very kind to him ....almost understanding that he's Lebron's son and the spotlight is on him and no way is he any more than a role player. So they're actually doing him right so far from what I've seen.

Hate is coming more from fans ....

Absolutely a waste of a roster spot.
