These are the last 6 players picked at 55 in the draft and their contracts. One guy got $75k guaranteed, the other guys got non-guaranteed, two way contracts.

Bronny James gets 4 years, $7.9 million, and $4.4 million guaranteed.

More on the player that got $75k.^

Gui Santos, signed a three-year, $5.1 million contract with the Golden State Warriors, only $1 million of which was guaranteed.

If Bronny cannot play point guard nor shoot threes

Then all Bronny is basically this

Pros:
- Can get to the basket
- Plays passing lanes well
- Naturally Athletically gifted

Cons:
- No Point Guard skills
- Can't shoot
- Can't play man to man defense (gets shot over)
- Gets lost off-ball
- Gambles unnecessarily

Bronny if he's going to be 6'1 in the league is either going to have to become an all NBA level defender or he's going to need to become a 40% three point shooter.

Either way he'd need to develop actual point guard skills. Because he is missing FAR TOO MUCH to be a contributor to anything. Which is why he should have stayed in college.

didn't lebron get him the best trainers/coaches? why does he still suck? lol

I have stayed away from the Bronny circus. I kind of feel bad for the kid.

With that said, he should be on a 2 way contract. Rich Paul had no right to be calling the shots on Bronny not signing a 2 way contract like he did. Especially when we have a full roster.

No reason to feel bad for him. He has more opportunity than all of our kids on LG will ever have.

dont feel bad for him. This is part of being a celebrity. He has put himself out there pre NBA. The only difference now is that he is an adult. Lets face it hes been professional since highschool, but now its official. With that comes personal attacks and being under a microscope. His and his dads choice.

Feels like more of LeBron choice.

maybe, but bron jr could tap out if he wasnt into it. Bron and his wife, on the surface seem like amazing parents. i get helping a kid up the corporate ladder but willingly putting your kid in a hornets nest of a high profile career if he doesnt want it would be child abuse. Hopefully he pans out but he is subject to everything every other person in the public eye has to endure.

I have a few thoughts on the Bronny situation. Most of it is fake outrage.

Quote:
NEPO BABY!

Life isn't fair, and nepotism runs rampant in the front office. What are Jeanie's credentials? Isn't she a NEPO BABY too?

Quote:
He should have stayed another year in college!

European kids can go pro much earlier, American kids are forced to spend one year in college because NCAA makes money, and the NBA can save money on scouting.

Also, NOBODY does this in real life. Who do you know goes to a 4 year university, has a job lined up, and said "You know what, let me decline the offer, and go back to school"

Quote:
He's too short!

If IT, Spud Webb, Mugsy Bouges, and other short players made it in the league then it is possible for Bronny to succeed.

You know what short players really need?

Athleticism (Check)

Shooting (The easiest skill to work on)

It's his job to make sure his client is in the right situation.

Good job Rich Paul! You get what you can negotiate, not what some random people on the internet think you deserve!

Second round picks don't normally get guaranteed contracts!

It is common for draft prospects regardless of projected rounds to do all sorts of things to get to their desired destination:

- refuse workouts
- refuse to provide medicals (idk if they can do this in the new CBA)
- ask to not be drafted

Austin Reaves and Colin Castleton did this and NOBODY CARED

Fit is far more important than draft position in the modern NBA.

I guess he was a NEPO BABY when he was a McDonald's All American, and mocked to go in the first round too.

They should have worked something out with a 2 way deal. It really hurts the team's flexibility for him to take a roster spot.

Who could they have signed for the vetmin?

A big? I think JJ really prefers Hayes to be the back up big.

Guard? We already have too many guards and wings.

This team can only really improved thru S&T. They can still open a roster spot.

I dont understand what world some of these people live in. Imagine being adults whining on the internet about nepotism and family connections.

sports is the last industry that finds talent and weeds out the non-talented.Bron jr. certainly didn't earn where he's at but he's here. If he sticks its because he can play.

LeBron won't retire until Lakers sign both Bronny and Bryce to supermax deals.

Am I allowed to like him? Because I like him. He reminds me of Lonzo in a lot of ways: high energy, athletic, defensive instincts, doesn't know how to decelerate. I'm glad we have him signed for the next four years.

It’s gonna be another Reaves situation… unwanted player who ends up exceeding expectations

Difference is Lonzo was a far better college player, had actual point guard skills and was 6'7.

The only thing he has in common with Lonzo is being athletic.

I saw a lot of poor defense out there today. He would retreat with speed, and stay in front of the ball handler, but then in the final step fail to attempt any type of contest. Got beat when his opponent went right, forcing Castleton to rotate, and Bronny's man making the easy dish for a layup. His POA defense is not looking good right now.
