Lakers seem to be running it back again with the same squad and new coaching staff. What do you think their record will be?

53-29 as currently constructed. If Redick is good as people think he is and isn't dumb about the lineups and we remain healthy.

Can’t even begin to think about it as the Lakers may not look anything like currently constructed, just to play along as a good sport I voted for 53 wins due to the possibility of better coaching.

51-31, second round exit in six games.

We were 47-35 with Ham; not having him should add some wins.

45-37. Maybe we look better without Cam lineups but the odds of Lebron and AD playing 90% of the games will never happen again.

It's impossible to predict the Lakers' 2024-25 regular season record when we don't know what the final roster will look like and how good (or bad) of a head coach JJ Redick will be.

But as presently constituted, they can win 50-55 games if they stay relatively healthy and if they bother to value each game and play hard against inferior opponents.

Just looking at the playoff standings from last year. In the west 10 games above .500 was the 10th seed. In the East, 10 games below .500 was the 10th seed.

53 wins would’ve been the 4th seed in the West. The 2nd seed in the East.

57 wins would be tied for 1st place in the West.

If I break it down by coaching, JJ is an unknown, so I give it 50/50 odds at being better or worse. 50% chance the coaching makes us a 51 win team. 50% chance the coaching makes us a 41 win team. So that’s an expected value of 46 wins.

Health can make us a 53 win team or a 39 win team. I’m not feeling confident in the health of our top 2 earners. I put it 1 to 2 odds. Thats an expected wins of 44.5.

That puts us around 45 expected wins cumulative. Depending on health and our final win total we can evaluate how much the coaching change affected the team.

Last season I think we were 49-50 wins health-wise but ended up with 47 wins due to coaching. People point to 5-10 close games that we should’ve won with better coaching, but you can’t win every close game. We also won some close games last season. So being realistic, coaching cost us more like 3 games, because you can’t expect a coach to cause the team to win EVERY close game.

Should be in the play-in mix.

4th-6th seed if Redick understands the rotation well. last year Pockets figured it out way too late. It's just unfortunate we had to see Denver in 1st rd.

48-34, assuming the roster is the same it is now. Progression from better coaching (can’t really get any worse), regression from a less healthy Bron/AD. Think we’ll be worse than OKC, DEN, MIN, DAL, and probably around the same spot as PHX, MEM and NOP

2nd round exit against the Nuggets

Dunno if I can rank OKC above us, if we'd faced them last season in the Playoffs we'd have undoubtedly beat them in 5.

True, but Hartenstein and Caruso are big additions. Chet should improve again too

Also I hope they never play the "What a pro wants/ what a pro needs." commercial ever again. OKC getting eliminated made me double happy cause they stopped playing that darn commercial.

I think this team as currently constructed will make playoffs and good enough to get homecourt in the 1st round but rest depends on the coaching and roster tweaking. Without no improvement it will be a quick exit from the playoffs.
