He made every scene he was in better. One of the most recognizable voices in history, probably. What a loss.

Truly a legend and an icon. Few actors possessed his gravity and natural charisma. Every single line he spoke had weight. His turn as Darth Vader is iconic. But I will also remember him for his ability to elevate stuff like Best OF The Best and Conan The Barbarian, two Cable TV Classics from my childhood. Truly unique, RIP.

Amazing actor with a diverse and storied career. I was lucky enough to see him on Broadway in the original cast of Fences with Courtney B Vance many years ago . . . such a compelling presence on the stage . . . and hearing that voice in person . . . yeah!

RIP sir!

Even when his part was minimal his presence was overwhelming. RIP

Don't forget Mufasa!

Once again, the Force is out of balance.

Purely talking about spoken voice and not singing/songs, I don't think whoever #2 is, is even close. Darth by a mile.

I'm very jealous. I love FENCES. I'd bet he didn't need to be mic'd during some of the more contentious scenes. His voice boomed.

I think of him, I think of Morgan Freeman, and I think of John Facenda, who was the iconic original voice that you hear on NFL Films snippets of yesteryear. ("The autumn wind is a Raider", etc.)

Oh, and Kathleen Turner.

I’d have to add Liev Schreiber, being a Hard Knocks fan.
