I can answer this because yesterday I checked the opening night record since I became a fan in the 2005-2006 season.
Since 2005-2006 we are 7-12. We haven't won on opening night since 2016 and a lot of the wins were in the Kobe championship window.
-------------------------------
2005-2006 W
2006-2007 W
2007-2008 L
2008-2009 W
2009-2010 W
2010-2011 W
2011-2012 L
2012-2013 L
2013-2014 W
2014-2015 L
2015-2016 L
2016-2017 W
2017-2018 L
2018-2019 L
2019-2020 L
2020-2021 L
2021-2022 L
2022-2023 L
2023-2024 L
-------------------------------
Thus however I feel about the team for a given season I always assume we will lose on opening night. |
Thanks for the info |

Bronny Season
Quote: | Bronny James is expected to play tonight, per
@ShamsCharania
"I'm told it's very likely, and the Lakers plan that LeBron James, Bronny James make history as the first father-son duo to be on the court at the same time, and likely to come early in the game as long as it's competitive and it's a flowing game as far as where the Lakers are at early on in that game. I think that's going to be very important. The Lakers want to allow this to happen during the flow of the game in a competitive environment.” |

Going to have to be good on O, hopefully ADs shot stays to form and everyone else gets out of the crapper otherwise it's going to be a long night if we throw up bricks on this team who I expect to rebound well. |

Watch Bronny actually play better than DLo.
I'm not saying he's better than DLo of course, but you know how bad DLo can get when he doesn't play well. |

we are home, healthy and have continuity
vs
Trying to integrate a ball-dominant guy, on the road, moderate success where they probably take us lightly. _________________ Iman Shumpert, believes LBJ's decision to constantly team up with other All-Stars eschewed the idea of superstars continually adding layers to their repertoire. |

New season, new team, new coach. I look forward to seeing JJ's lineups and rotations. I hope like hell he's not Darvin Hamm II. He's new to this level of coaching. In fact, he has no real coaching experience. His tenure is on the line. He seems to be intelligent but intelligence don't feed the pit bull. He may have some backup having LBJ as a friend. Tonight's game will be a sort of template. Preseason is over It's on the real tonight. We'll see if his hire was a good choice. Good Luck JJ.

As expected, Foston is crapping all over the supposed second best team in the East. Only way we could prevent a Foston repeat is to get to the NBA finals ourselves. _________________ Lakers used to average one championship every four years but I'd gladly take one every ten years now. |

its the first game - they are figuring out kat-Bridges - just like Wolves are figuring out JR_DDV
we should do to the wolves what the celts are doing to NYK _________________ Iman Shumpert, believes LBJ's decision to constantly team up with other All-Stars eschewed the idea of superstars continually adding layers to their repertoire. |

Exactly!! That's what championship teams do. Win and win decisively. Not barely beating or losing like we did to the Nuggets. We need to DOMINATE the competition. Flex our muscles with our star powers!
I'm pretty sure the Lakers didn't lead by 30+ point at all last season. Foston seems to be doing it every other game. _________________ Lakers used to average one championship every four years but I'd gladly take one every ten years now. |
