BREAKING: The Phoenix Suns have fired head coach Mike Budenholzer after finishing in 11th place with a 36-46 record in his one season, sources tell ESPN.
When Mike Malone was fired I posted "all these folks getting fired and Mike Budenholzer still has a job". And somebody posted some kind of response to that. But I knew that there was no way in today's NBA that Budz would be long for this coaching world lol. (EDIT - it was a really funny response tho lol)
The Suns have fired 3 coaches in 23 months. I dunno guys maybe it’s not the coach.
Seriously. Two had won the frigging title within the last 5 years (Bud and Vogel).

why are the suns paying $50 million a year for a head coach? lol
That owner got money to burn. I still remember the media using Phoenix to contrast between an organization that knows what it's doing, that had a target, went out and signed that target. Whereas the Lakers were dysfunctional, and might hire a podcaster for a coach. LOL! _________________ "The game is MORE than just one player. Mike Malone is probably next.
I imagine Mike will either go to the Suns or Knicks when they fire Thibs.
It’s like they’re just playing musical chairs with coaches. Mike Brown is on the market too. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Certain posters on LG were absolutely fellating the Suns owners as ideal for the "modern" NBA. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

Everyone is forgetting the Spurs might be looking for a new coach because Pop might not be back and who wouldn't want to coach Wemby, Castle, and Fox for a decade ...

Looks like the Twolves ownership accomplished what they wanted with the KAT deal. Downgraded in talent but are not "that much" worse and save a buttload of long time money.

They also picked up a late FRP this year. Gobert was the big to trade, but maybe there was no market for him. In any event, with new ownership coming in, I try to move the pick with Gobert & Julius for a younger scorer and I roll with Naz and McDaniels at the 4 & 5. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

All their good assistants have left, there's no one left to hire from within. Ime was their best assistant, Becky was also great. The best hire from within at the moment is Mitch Johnson which won't cut it.

That's basically what TMG's (hilarious) response to me was. Which I don't disagree I'm just saying that two winning coaches with playoff contending teams just got fired. One under questionable circumstances and one seemingly out the sky for no reason whatsoever. So no matter why he was losing, there was just no way that Budz was gonna keep his job while endlessly losing. I mean dude you got Kevin Durant and Devin Booker sitting right there you can't even make the play in fam? Come on man lol
(yes I know they had nothing even resembling defense that I ever saw on their team lol I'm just saying losses equal job loss quick in today's NBA)

Not saying Bud did a great job there but he also didn’t put the team
together. They combined 3 guys who only create for themselves and a bunch of vet mins and called it a basketball team. If you’re firing 3 coaches in 23 months (two of which have recent championships) you’ve got much bigger problems. This may be the worst case of New Owner Syndrome I can remember and a cautionary tale for those like myself who have itched for new ownership. _________________ 14-5-3-12
Hall of Famer Joe Dumars is finalizing a deal to become the new president of basketball operations of the New Orleans Pelicans, sources tell ESPN. Dumars was president of the Pistons from 2000-14, building the 2004 Detroit championship team. Now returns home to Louisiana.
In related news, New Orleans plans on offering max money this summer to Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva. _________________ 14-5-3-12
the most interesting series in the east is Det vs NY, i can definitely see Det taking that series. that Knicks team lost a lot of chemistry and toughness by trading away Dante Divencenzo and Randle. if Knicks lose to Detroit, i can definitely see they fire Thib.

and Dumars is on trip to Europa to talk Darko into a comeback tour.
i'm hoping for a close game tonight between GS and Memphis. even if GS win, i want their stars to play heavy minutes, and then get rolled by Houston's young team.
