My answer based on the only metric I care about: Vogel is ahead of JJ because he won a championship with us.

Hard for JJ to win a championship when it's only three games in. I really like Vogel but I think JJ is just smarter and more cunning. Not sure why no team wants to hire a championship winning HC like Vogel or maybe he just wasn't interested in coaching while already getting paid.

I mean Doc Rivers has only won one championship and look at all love that he's been getting.

Eyeball test, he's the best coach we've had since Phil. Easily.

You got that out of 3 games? lol

Yup. All the others I was instantly annoyed by something in their first 3 games.

After seeing how Ham used this roster, JJ isn't doing anything different versus if anyone us on here would have done if we took over as HC

Oh, I'm willing to wait to see if he does. Should that happen, he'll be tied with Vogel. Right now, he's behind.

It's like a football game where the receiving team scores on its opening drive. They are winning even though the other side hasn't had a chance to put points on the board themselves.

I think people forget Lakers started the season 24-3 in the Vogel championship season.

Well, first three games in, Vogel was 2-1 and JJ was 3-0 so there's that.

The thing that few seem to get is only one coach other than Phil ever won a title in LA since Riley and that’s because he got the team to play to ADs strengths on defense.

It’s like having one of the greatest defenders of all time and just giving him (bleep) to work with.

JJ may turn out to be the best since Phil, but only one coach has had the right plan for Lebron/AD until Pelinka screwed it up.

I’d like to see JJ get a more defensively talented group and then judge. The RS is a marathon. Ups and downs. But we’ve know this for 2 years. Even GOAT Phil can’t turn this team into an elite defensive team and he certainly wouldn’t be able to have made Westbrook work. We need to stop blaming coaches and focus on Pelinka.
