Dear Mr. Roberts,

I am sorry for the 1,634,259 times that I've called for you to be fired as the Dodgers manager. The team showed heart, hustle, grit, toughness & professionalism, which is due to the culture you created.

Hats off to you, sir - you've won as many WS as Tommy LaSorda, and you deserve the same level of respect.

Roberts is 5th all time in regular season win/loss percentage (.627), and 10th all time in playoffs win/loss percentage (.560) among all that have won two WS championships or more. In his 9 seasons (with the Dodgers, a 10th if his one game as a Padre manager), he's averaged over 100 wins per season and has 2 WS championships: 1 ever 4.5 years.

Many consider Bouchy among the greatest ever. In 27 years, he has 4 WS championships (1 every 8.75 years), a much lower regular season W/L% (.498) but a slightly better post season W/L % (.580).

Yes, Roberts has had the benefit of a team willing to spend (over-spend?) and bring in much talent, which does not allow for a strict or fair comparison. But no team wins the WS without talent, and maybe luck. Regardless, I think Roberts compares very favorably to Bouchy.

Respect indeed to a LEGEND. managed this run perfectly. I thought his masterclass was game 6 against the Rays but this entire run was one long run of near perfect moves.

I second the apology. He seemed to make all the right moves when the Dodgers needed him to. Great job this year and you have to give the man credit.

Although he is nowhere near Phil Jackson status, I would definitely consider him as the equivalent for baseball.

No sir, that would be Joe Torre, who managed Big stars/big egos like Jackson did. Robert needs to pass alston before even being discussed as the best Dodgers coach even.

No disrespect to Smokey Alston, but he managed 8 HOF (Campy, Hodges, Reese, Robinson, Snider, Koufax, Drysdale, Sutton) and at least 40 other All Stars, Cy Young & MVP winners.
