Just saw on Padres reddit that Manny and Merrill followed Sasaki on IG. |

The thing is if he decides to go SD, I'll be very very disappointed but if he comes here the Padres fans will be devastated. We still have so much to look forward to this year. |

I took that for the same grain of salt as the Vladi Guerrero posting the workout pic of him and Teo and Teo liking it. |

Seeing them devastated will be great. San Diego sports teams were ALWAYS LA's little sister teams even going back to Raiders vs Chargers. Nobody took the Chargers seriously back in the days and everyone loved or hated the Raiders. |

Do you remeber that SB with Steve Young Niners vs Chargers? Everyone knew Chargers had no chance and everyone was right. |

Oh yea...the Stan Humphries Super Bowl. Chargers are such dorks that they prevented Deion Sanders from signing with the Raiders the last year they made the Super Bowl.....even though Deion would have been third corner behind Charles Woodson and Tory James. |

I actually had to do a double-take and check to make sure I wasnt being tricked about the Nick Castellanos and 2024 MVP-take. Idiots like this exist in the world |

i'm over Sasaki already. if he signs great, if not, let's see what he can do. having great stuff is one thing, having ice in your vein during postseason starts is totally different. we've witnessed that Yamamoto has that attribute, Sasaki on the other hand is still an unknown in that regard. how does he pitch when under pressure? at least we have a known product in Yamamoto, and he's only a couple years older than Sasaki. Sasaki comes off as very diva-like during this negotiation period, the guy has not proved one thing in the league and sure has a lot of demands. if he wants to follow his mentor Darvish who has been a loser in big moments himself, then so be it, let's get Tanner Scott and call it an off season. |

The Padres have never won a ring in their entire history. If he really wants to be the best, it’s strange to me that people argue going there makes more sense. |

I gotta admit, Yamamoto does have that dog in him. Getting lit up by the Padres beginning of the season. Then again in game 1 of NLDS. For him to comeback in game 5 to pitch a gem was incredible. Then does it again in NLCS and in WS. |

What's he done that makes him seem to be a diva? _________________ KOBE |

Come on now y’all we all know he’s going to be a Dodger. I’m glad we are falling for it..just means there won’t be an investigation. They played this perfectly after the heat. |

His stuff is great even compared to the pitchers this team has had in the last decade (or maybe even ever). It’s so good that even if he isn’t great mentally under pressure, he may succeed anyway because hitters won’t feel confident going up against him, and that would give him more confidence.
My biggest concern is if he ends up like Dustin May, or can pitch but gets hurt a lot like Glasnow. But if he can pitch enough innings I would be shocked if he isn’t successful. |

Yeah. Between the 4 major professional sports league, MLB is the most team sport there is. A pitcher can go off and throw a no hitter in the playoffs but you're only gonna see him once or twice at the most. Same with the batter, you can go off but if the guy before you or after you don't do anything then it's no use. A single pitcher isn't going to bring a championship to a team. Sasaki knows that.
Ohtani is a good example. You can have an excellent season pitching and batting but if your team sucks then you ain't winning. |

When he assigned homework to teams kinda gave me that impression. But like Snipes said, it's all just an act to make it seem like he is serious. |

Quote: | The finalists for Japanese star right-hander Roki Sasaki are the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres and Toronto Blue Jays, sources tell ESPN. Sasaki will decide on his team by the closing of his posting window Jan. 23. |

What kind of news reporting is this? Sasaki will make his decision before his deadline expires? |

It really does. The Blue Jays are that one character that somehow finds a way survives as long as he can. The Padres are the villain of course. |
