What kind of news reporting is this? Sasaki will make his decision before his deadline expires? |
There are probably a lot of casual fans who are unaware of the posting deadline. |

You got it.
Looks like Cubs and Rangers are out.
This really does feel like Squid Game and Survivor.
All these teams being voted off the island today. |
I view this as a courtesy, they are letting the teams know before the international window begins on the 15th so that they know they can sign their prospects. |

Lol, so true man. We've seen this movie, at least, twice before.
- Max Scherzer was on his way to San Diego
- Shohei was on a plane to Toronto to sign with the Jays
Remember, unless Passan posts, nothing is ever official. |

Video going around of Sasaki pitching in Padres gear at PETCO during his visit. Did the Dodgers even get a second visit? |

I think he is going to SD because of Yu. Sucks if true. Breaks our short lived monopoly in Asia. |

Same. I think while LA is the obvious destination coming to the MLB these guys want to make their own mark distinct from back home. |

It looks like one of those posts where it doesn't matter which way the news ends up being. If he goes to the Padres then it kinda makes it look like he broke it. If not then it doesn't matter.
I really believe Sasaki is coming here. |

Bummer if true, he could Kawhi us since we already lost at least 2 other prospects during this signing period. |

I wish I had your optimism, but not really because losong to the Padres on this will sting. |

They can also just state the deadline. The way it’s phrased makes it seem as if they’re passing along info of when he’s going to decide.
And technically they’re assuming he’ll pick a team by the deadline. |

People are saying he did that for the Blue Jays too.

This is probably true in a lot of situations when teams pursue a player. And realistically they do have a shot so I can understand the optimism on their part. I suspect the Dodgers are optimistic too.

It’s funny how people say he doesn’t want to play in Ohtani and Yamamoto’s shadow in LA. He can play in their shadow in San Diego if he thinks that way when he finishes in 2nd place every year. |

He is a pretty confident athlete. I am sure he doesn't think that way. |

I will not believe anything until it’s reported by Passan.
We’ve been down this road a million times and the end result usually ends up in our favor |

I won’t lose sleep over it his. This isn’t NBA where a young superstar can set up the franchise for the next decade. How often in MLB a superstar (still on the fence with Sasaki on the superstar part) singlehandly wins a WS? Never, baseball is so random, treating this as NBA off season or trade deadline is just not worth it. |

I can’t say I’m not worried. Eventhough my theory is this is all a charade, they’re making the charade look very convincing so far. |

Yeah, I'm hoping that Nightengale is just doing some bidding for us. |

I am concerned. Of course I was concerned last year about Ohtani and Yamamoto, and this year with Teo. There were definitely times when I was more pessimistic about getting (or keeping) those guys.
Can’t win every battle but looking back on those players, even if Sasaki doesn’t join the team, it could be much worse. But I still want Sasaki. |

Sasaki is a grade A dumbass if he chooses the Padres over the Dodgers. Any team with Manny Machado "leading" a team, soft Darvish (although it seems he is finally letting his b**** drop - about time), broken ownership infighting AND cutting payroll, little sister organization to the Dodgers and its best player a certified idiot in Tatis Jr. All of these are publicly known. How this joke of an organization even deserves to be in the final 3 is beyond me. It should have been the Yankees over these clowns in SD. |
