A lineup that maintains production from last year with a lucky year of healthy pitching = 120 Wins and nonstop beating the (bleep) out of teams in the regular season.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, like diarrhea. I just didn't know that's one of the symptoms of a flu. I thought that's associated with some sort of food poisoning.

Also, shouldn’t he be in the hospital hooked up to an IV if he’s losing that much fluids?

Dave Roberts does make it sound serious:

Quote:
”When you're dehydrated, that's what opens a person up to soft tissue injuries. We're very mindful of that."

Ask Wyler Abreu he got a stomach virus playing winter ball and still hasn't played a game in ST for the Red Sox.

Yeah stomach virus makes sense.

Maybe that’s what Mookie has with flu-like symptoms and not the flu.

I don't know if it's because I had to watch a game at 6am (3am must be insane for those of you on the WC) which my body isn't used to, or how quiet the crowd gets before every pitch but that was a weird season opener.

I mean we all feel a certain way about the mid-March INTL start and I understand its mandatory to grow the game but damn I can't wait till the real season opener.

I think last year was similar but it was our first season with Sho which bumped up the excitement.

Very excited to watch Sasaki tomorrow though - and it was awesome seeing Scott today too.

How come we are the away team? I thought the Dodgers got homecourt advantage in the Tokyo series.

We will see....usually they become problematic once they are fractured in Freeman's case and players play through pain. That was Eddie Murray's injury with the Dodgers in 1991 and his batting average sank as a result from 0.300 in end of May to about 0.240 end of July until he picked it up again once his ribs healed. Thankfully his arent fractured right now and they do heal on their own.

In Smith's case very concerned. His bat speed was slow as hell to begin with and I dont want any maladies hurting him that compromise his swing any worse than it already is,

Well, 2 that count in the standings. We did play 2 exhibition games, one against the Yomiuri Giants and the other against the Hanshin Tigers. We'll end up playing 4 games in 5 days before flying back home. Then we get a few more spring training games in once we're back home, before the stateside opener.

Can't believe Alex Verdugo still a free agent. Anyway we bring him back? His defense is pretty good.

Rib injuries are the absolute worse. I've busted my ribs before and it affects everything...even breathing. Gawd forbid you laugh or have to cough. The pain is excruciating.

Mainly plays RF or LF, neither of which we need.

If we had a need in the outfield, it’d only be CF.

Today, we had Edman at 2B and Pages in CF

We just optioned Wrobleski, selected the contract of Matt Sauer, and transferred Kershaw to the 60-day IL.

We're going with the same lineup as last night. No Freddie again.

Definitely concerned. I was hoping Freeman would bounce back after a disappointing season (for his standards, although his game 1 home run more than made up for it).

Roberts said that Freddie was pushing to play today but the staff wants to err on the side of caution. He said that he expects Freddie to be ready for the Freeway Series next week.

It’s really exciting to see. Struggling more with his control this inning which is more of what I expected because it’s still March. But I’m thrilled he isn’t playing for the Padres.

Not sharp that inning, bailed out by the lineout DP. Velo was down to 97-98 in the 2nd, too.

Curious to see how long the team leaves Sasaki in. He doesn’t look like he will go very long with his command issues so far. 3 walks and 1 k so far.
