Rob saw him hit that clutch 3 against the Bucks and immediately called up Brooklyn. More than likely he was just a sweetener in the deal, because I don't envision him making any kind of impact.
edit: For the record, I watched highlights of that game and I conflated Milton with CamJ.

He isn’t trash. He’s averaging close to 8PPG, he adds depth on the Lakers bench.. 1 of our main weaknesses is bench production, he’s shooting a solid % from 3

I first noticed his potential at Philly! He and Maxey both started looking promising about the same time two years ago, of course Maxey soared into the stratosphere far ahead. Still, Shake is a bonus reason that makes this a win/win trade for the Lakers.
I know it’s one game, but in the last one he played he had 12 assists with only 1 turnover. He is also a good defensive player shooting 3pt @ 39% on vet min for a few years too!

Shake’s final 2 years are fully nonguaranteed and the options to make them fully guaranteed are post FA moratorium in each year respectively (aka mid July ‘25 & ‘26).
