If we want changes that Jeanie isnt doing. This should seriously be done. No Joke.

Yea, if we want changes, then we should all stop supporting the Lakers. It's the only way to force Jeanie's hands. There's no other possible ways to make her sell the team. We all know what happened to the last guy who tried to oust her so I don't think the other siblings would dare try something like that again. She's one mean SOB.

If you love the Lakers and want to see it back to its glory days, then STOP supporting the team.

If you enjoy this mediocre (bleep) show year in and year out, then keep supporting the team.

This would imply they listen or care. Brass never even addresses fans. I just bum my family's Spectrum stream. How do I stop supporting them, by watching an illegal stream?

I think they could lose 25% of their viewership and engagement and not bat an eye because valuation still goes up. The Lakers are the Buss retirement account.

There's something so inevitable and successful about the Lakers brand that invites complacency, so much so that Kobe had to force Dr Buss' hand to become competitive faster and more intently.

This won't be a popular thread, but I've watched the Lakers since I was 12, and now I'm.... not 12. I've seen many bad Lakers teams, but there was always hope they were in transition and had a way out, soon. This team doesn't inspire that hope, and mgmt doubling down on stupid past decisions by offering nepotism as the reason to buy tickets or watch Spectrum, is insulting.

The Lakers went from being one of the best managed teams that averaged a championship appearance every few years, to bordering on the buffoonery Donald Sterling's Clippers offered for so long. As he said, he didn't offer Championships, he offered hope. Jeanie has sold the Lakers soul doing business with Klutch, and employing a GM who was a hated agent, which is a likely reason he can't get a deal done without overpaying, so no deals are being made.

One serious free agent (Klay) wanted no part of this dumpster fire, and apparently made a wise choice.

I won't go to a game, buy merchandise, have Spectrum, or do anything to offer support. I agree, they don't care, but fans need to vocalize it to make others aware that people notice and are taking a stand.

This is exactly what the LA Galaxy did which forced the incompetents out of their position and brought in real leadership with the right infrastructure and now they play in the MLS Cup final in a couple days with a balanced high-octane offense rarely seen in this league.

The Dodgers were a hopeless wreck run by the incompetent Fox Group and then worse, the McCourts. During these years, and especially during the Fox years, they were consistently one of the top payrolls in the league and yet they went nowhere and hardly made the playoffs. As soon as they were sold to Mark Walter and the Guggenheim Group, the Dodgers have been on a rampage, having a stranglehold on the NL West, fans viewing the playoffs as a given, and winning 2 of the last 5 years and being viewed as how the Yankees of old were viewed. They are the trendsetters and have recently become the trendsetter for a new trend with the deferred payments: Bottom line, it isnt just their spending, they did that in the 90s and 00s as well. Its run by competent people, best in the business.

I'd be curious to see a poll on how many LG'ers attend games, how many per week, per month, season ticket holder, etc.

It always felt to me diehard fans who spend time on forums, don't really attend games. LOL! But that's because my view is skewed by my personal experience. I'm a diehard fan since the 80's, but I think I've been to maybe 3 games. Never attended any Showtime games, but I recall one during the Lakeshow era seeing Sedale Threat, Eddie Jones, etc. Then maybe 2 games during Kobe's tenure. So I'm already doing my part of not going to games. LOL! I do go to a lot of summer league games including seeing Kobe at the pyramid when he shot 25 free throws.

Its obvious the word around league the among players league is to avoid joining the Lakers at all costs. I assume its the same with current coaches.

I most recently was going along with a buddy who had season tickets since Kobe came. I don't know if he has the tickets now, but I wouldn't go with him.

I mean, Klay kind of saved us from ourselves like the Greg Monroe free agency. Mavs Klay is like Mavs Odom.

Lakers’ games are places to be seen for people who don’t actually care that much about basketball, so this will never happen.

I started this last Dec (2023) after a loss to the Spurs following the off season that not only failed to upgrade, but actually downgraded. It was invigorated with the no-action at the trade deadline last season and confirmed even more with this failed off season. I expect the Lakers to be around .500 by New Year’s around 10th for playin. I had been a game attender and spender being a fan since 1979 but haven’t spent a cent since Dec 2023 and won’t until it looks like the FO is committed and capable of winning. I barely even watch games on National TV catching just part of some.

I followed the Sedale Threat teams along with the Anthony Peeler one. The Nick Van Exel team was fun. I dug in with the Rudy Tom team and the train wreck aftermath. I cut Mitch and Jim some slack since they tried with CP3, then Dwight/Nash. I even hung with the Randle/Russel/Ingram teams. I’ve been pissed since Randle and Lopez was let go for nothing but the title masked some of it. Dumping Schroeder/Kieff/Drummond to build that losing roster after the WB trade set me off and then bringing WB into the next season was infuriating. I had hope after trading away WB but when Rob didn’t pick up a C and said the plan was to sit AD on back-to-back such that Rui had to play center I knew we were still fracked. The WCF was fool’s gold and that off season’s downgrade proved it. We went to Dec 2023 which is where I’ve been since…zero dollars spent for anything…not supporting the team.

I don’t expect it to affect their bottom line tho, it’s more for my own piece of mind. It would be nice if enough of us did it to cause change.

For years, I watched every game, and even if I worked, I watched delayed recordings. No I have plenty of time, but I seldom watch. At most, I keep up with player stats, and chat on LG and Bleacher Report. I don't expect to effect change, but I'm not a robot and refuse to spend and root for the team just because someone expects me to.

Esp celebrities, influencers, thots, porn stars etc. As long as they have $$$$$ to shell out on tickets, they will go. Lakers don't really have to worry about empty seats because having good seats are as seen as some kind of status symbol or flex to the rest of us plebs. I hate to say it but you will find more genuine fans at the intuit dome.

At some point the chickens will come home to roost for this team. I get it has only been 4 years since our last champ, but bron has been on this team since 18 and all we have to show for it is 1 trip to the NBA finals and 1 trip to the WCF since. If fans dont send a message, nobody will, thus status quo will continue. That has to stop.

Did they stop going to the games on those awful few years before Lebron?

I doubt people that goes to the actual games regularly even post here...

If there is, maybe only less than a hand full of them.

I stopped. I went to the season opener because I knew they would be at their best and probably the most healthy. Got a Jerry west jersey and a nice effort out of them. I refuse to go to anymore games until they make a trade that shows me they are serious about winning. Over the past few seasons I’ve spent thousands of dollars on Laker games from right behind the bench to PR sections.

The prices for laker games since LeBron came to town are (bleep) insane. You don’t even want to know how much I paid to see them play the warriors in the playoffs.

I can’t imagine paying 1000 for some tickets and they give the level of effort I saw last night. That was pathetic!

I mean you do see a lot of tourist at laker games. So, you’re probably right about die hard fans not going as often. However, I’m the exception. Prior to last season I was going at least once a week depending on the matchups and sometimes twice. The thing is I didn’t mind but I refuse to support if they are losing because they aren’t trying smh

Sports and politics are 2 areas where loyalty is entirely irrational, but people do it anyway. I'll never root for another team, but I'll definitely check out and walk away when they're not doing what I believe they're supposed to be doing. These last few years is the least Lakers games I've watched since I started watching in the 80s.

Yep, the Laker brand is even stronger than the Dodgers in LA. It will take an epic catastrophe for LA to stop showing up for the Lakers at Staples Center.
