In the wake of the Doncic trade…

I mean right now his approval rating has to be a 100%. Swapped out an aging star for one of the 5 legitimate franchise players in this league (SGA, Luka, Giannis, Wemby, Jokic)

Gonna need to see the follow up. Losing AD and Max leaves a massive defensive hole on the team. Luka is amazing, but he isn’t rebounding and blocking shots and guarding multiple POA players like AD and Max were. Mavs are very likely to be better than us the rest of this season. Pelinka needs to build around Luka quick, because he has a player option and no super max to keep him here if we aren’t good next season and he goes into free agency wondering about how he’s going to compete in LA.

Mavs did all the work for him. Luka fell on his lap. There were no prior recruitment or talks. All he had to is not screw it up.

Now he gets to keep his job for a lot longer. You trust him to build around Luka without getting lucky?

I defended Rob strongly because I feel like he's been GMing with his arm tied behind his back.

Never truly free to do as he pleases.

This is another step in the right direction.

Yeah, of course. Result is the only thing matter.
At least he showed me he doesn’t have to get approval from klutch or LeBron and can operate in stealth.

He never had to… This move proved it. A lot of the anti-klutch crowd thought it was. Rob was called a snake for a reason. He could have not pulled the Westbrook trade but he would have got a lot of heat for not pulling the trigger. But he always make it seems like he had one hand tied by Klutch. Dude knows how to play both ways.

Guys like Vash+ has done a lot of evident work on this for the past but people like to ignore it.

He kept our picks for someone who would make a difference.

How many here wanted to give up the picks for the likes of LaVine or Dejounte Murray?

Had Rob panicked and traded for Murray we'd be out two picks and stuck with a slumping guard with a torn Achilles and lost our shot at Luka.

His move for DFS was good value for a player who was leaving anyway.

He got Reaves, Vando, Rui at good prices.

When unfettered by Klutch's demands he's shown good business savvy.

Gabe has been good since he recovered from injury.

Like I said this move is more luck than anything else. I voted neutral as I still don’t think he’s the guy you want building around Luka.

The way players are reacting around the league, I think this moved has Rob looking like a GM you can’t trust. At least Dallas have their reasons since they know the most about whats going on with Luka.

He signed a man's kid for four years who has yet to do sh*t as a player.

All to support that player.

Any player in the league would have supported that trade if it meant Luka came to their team.

And AD's on a contender, it's not like they sent him back to New Orleans.

When Bron retires, I bet those players talking sh*t about Rob would still line up to play with Luka and the Lakers.

This is key. If this weren't true this would simply hav been a "give up the short term but get set for the long term" play since Luka is a franchise player.
But this complicates the picture - this current team is low on size, low on rim-protection, low on defense, basically a hodge-podge. Further moves are critically needed.

Have to see how Luka reacts to this, does he feel betrayed and motivated? Or are the fat reports true and stays lazy like shaq. AD didn’t deserve to get traded like that. If lakers don’t make anymore trades and rebuild for next season then I hope AD gets a ring this season

-He cut the cap mess Jim Buss left us in and drafted a great young core
-Then cleared two max slots and got Lebron
-Then he did the Ad trade and we won a ring
-His drafting has been A-level nearly every season
-And now we have a 25 year old Luka

But yeh no team building

He made one team that worked. Every other team has been a fail. Even the western conference finals team got extremely lucky with injuries and matchups.

He has done everything right with the exception of the brick trade(maybe it was LeBron and AD forced brick on us).

5+ shots of Patrón tequila. Usually 3 shots of 80 proof Patrón tequila within an hour would get an average person to a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) level of 0.08, any higher than 0.08 a person would be considered legally intoxicated.

We should accept that Rob is here for the long haul. No way Jeanie doesn’t extend him again.

He lucked into this trade although he managed to hang onto the 31 1st and swaps. Credit there. I have little confidence in his vision for building a team BUT the truthis he’s been given the blessing and the curse of working/being shackled by Klutch. Perhaps he’s ready to spread his wings. Maybe he’ll fly straight into a window. One thing I will say, way to step up to the plate and retake control of this franchise from LeBron.
