Without any significant changes, will the team play better, the same, or worse? |

We cook teams on offense repeatedly. We give up a ton of points. We go into the offseason excited for the future |

One thing I haven't considered is that Luka penetrates and draws big men, which leads to lob dunks. Hayes and CK should benefit from that. |

Team will struggle at first specially with a tough schedule coming up. Luka is such a big piece to integrate in JJ's offense. Also losing AD/Max defense, shot blocking and rebounding will be immediately felt. Then I expect this board to slowly start turning on Lebron. Well I mean it already has begun.

The best realistic path for the team this year is an unexpected WCF run ala the 2022 Mavs. Three good to elite ballhandlers + DFS + A bunch of randos.
P.S. They won 52 games with a pretty sh*t roster that year |

I believe we'll be worse without further additions.
Lost a huge chunk of defense and that needs to be adressed.
At least need a legit big man because None of what we have are even legit rotational pieces.
Well Wood is but who knows when he'll play.
Will be fun to see Lebron and Luka pnr
Will be fun to see how Lebron will be utilized now that Luka is going to be the main offensive hub.
Wll be fun to see Luka drop 50/20/10 |

We cannot win championship unless we could just score 150 points a game. Historically, small ball teams don't get very far in the playoffs. Come to think of it, every single NBA championship team has had a decent center, right? _________________ Lakers used to average one championship every four years under Dr. Buss but I'd gladly take one every ten years now. |

I expect one of the best all-time NBA offenses. JJ has a new overlord. He had to pivot and now work to appease Luka. The sky is the limit for this team. We might not loss another game after Luka comes back. |

What did you expect in 2005-2006? That’s exactly what we should feel now.
If we win, great, if we lose, we have a generational super star entering his prime

They will be worse defensively. They have a negative net rating with AD and Max, it’s hard to believe that will improve. The offense should be good but not as balanced. That’s assuming Luka comes back healthy. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Don’t make desperate trades is the right move, also, don’t sit in analysis paralysis and do nothing. Balance is the key. Don’t be so scared of making a desperate move that you don’t make a good move. Complacency would be just as damaging considering the Lakers are currently tied for 4th in the loss column in the West.
If fighting for a playin perhaps lean towards not making a move to avoid a desperate one, as is, the lean should be toward a sense of urgency to make a move since a ship could be within reach. Kleber for Valanciunas? Knecht for Kessler? Probably still need defense in the backcourt unless Vando can help backup SG and Vincent is enough at back up PG. _________________ When it’s a reasonable possibility, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. I haven’t seen a respectable effort by the Front Office for the last two off seasons nor the last trade deadline. What is going on? |

We gotta wait for LeOldFart to have his retirement party before we can seriously rebuild. For now just get Luka in shape and healthy. _________________ Lakers. Built different. |

That would be ok for fans…or a GM/Owmer…that don’t care about winning. For those that want to win and hate to lose such that losing isn’t an acceptable strategy, it’s not ok.
As Is tied for 4th in the loss column in the West, it would be another wasted season not to expect a move that improves the chances of competing even better to move up the ladder, especially since the Mavs went to the Finals with Doncic/Kyrie and a collection of decent role players. Doncic/Lebron plus a collection of decent role players have the potential to do even better. The collection on the Lakers right now tho is inadequate, gotta get someone for Kleber that contributes this year, hopefully at C. _________________ When it’s a reasonable possibility, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. I expect Knecht and/or the #1 to be traded for a starting center.
Even before the trade I thought the Lakers had a chance to go really far this season. Denver is still the only team I don’t feel comfortable about them beating in a series. |

Unfortunately AD was the biggest reason to feel confident vs Memphis (the AD vs JJJ matchup) and OKC (AD vs Hartenstein and anyone else) and now dude is gone. Luka Magic needs to be Luka Magic to make up our fundamental advantage being wiped away over those teams |

People talk about Lebron like he is no longer capable... Why do you want to waste 2yrs of Luka's next to Lebron?
People like to say they are similar type of player... I don't think they are similar players at all. They don't even have the same game besides they both like to setup their team mates... Lebron is more of a downhill guy and pick n choosing his spots when it comes to scoring. Luka is more finesse off the dribble and stepbacks. One thing with Luka is that he takes a lot of bad shots. His 3ball and turnover rate efficiency is worst than Lebron.
Lebron also has proven he can play off the ball and can adapt his game to any offense. Sure there are times he plays Lebron ball, but the last 2 years that ball handling duties has been shared between AR and DLO. Lebron still managed to get AD his numbers. |

It’ll be interesting to see if Luka becomes a difference maker when the Lakers play the nuggets now. |

Still need a solid center to be a contender. Hayes wont cut it. But surely will enter the playoffs. |
