We have a good cushion. 5 games ahead of Golden State and they play Kings, Knicks, Nuggets, Bucks, Grizzlies, Lakers, Nuggets, Rockets, Suns, Clippers.
I hope we don’t play so poorly we can’t stay above the play-in teams.
Nuggets and Grizzlies schedules do not seem too tough. They could pass us. The Rockets have a tough finishing schedule. We should stay ahead of them.
3/4 seems likely. Let us pray. |

Luka raises the floor of the team, but the issue is more the other injuries. We're playing the Nets tonight without Hayes, Rui and DFS. If we can get some of those guys back soon then we can probably stay afloat without Bron. The upcoming 6 game in 8 night stretch was going to be rough regardless. |

4-5 seed with Houston in the first round wouldn't be too bad. We would also stay out of Denver's bracket.
Golden State and Minnesota are streaking right now though. |

Cannot believe people think that Luka and the team can not even keep up a top 6 seed. I'm sure they can.
We may not win at the same rate, but we'll be able to win 60 percent of our games, maybe 50. Lets say for arguments sake Lebron misses 10 games. Lets say even worst case scenario we go 3-7 or 4-6. That still puts us at 44-28.
Play in teams will finish in the 44-45 win range. There's no way this team is winning less than 50 games. |

i'd prefer OKC in the 2nd round over Denver. so i'm not mad if lakers fall to 4th or 5th seed so they can stay in the same bracket as OKC. in playoffs refs will swallow their whistles, most calls SGA getting right now he won't be able to when playoff comes. |

This. We acquired a rare breed that willed a good Mavs to the Finals. He won't let them fall out of the top 6 and the other guys will do their part even if it takes LBJ 3 weeks. |

Any chance GS will slip past us? They have such an easy remaining schedule. |

It would take an epic collapse and I just don't think this team has that in them, honestly. They've lost some hard fought games on the road, while injured. Barring further injury it just seems like we're bound to at least go 500. |

Enough with the (bleep) (bleep) play-in.
It’s a stupid (bleep) gimmick to make teams try at the end of regular season. |

Unless something catastrophic happens, I think we will be at least a 3 seed. |

I’m really disappointed in Rob…again he left the job partially incomplete as in the past…a fully flushed out roster would have helped maintain some of the success even with injuries. A Moses Brown type instead of Len …or even a cheaper Mark Williams from an amended deal done a day or two earlier…plus contributors brought in swapping out Kleber/Cam/Kief would have shown commitment to a ship run.
It looks like the franchise is just ok with winning “some” games and providing “some” entertainment but not really committed to winning.
Despite all that, the talent alone probably maintains the 6th seed as a floor. With 19 games left and 4.5 games ahead of Minny @ 7th…plus the schedules and challenges other teams face along with our own…I expect the Lakers to finish better than playin. The disappointment however is the difference in having home court advantage in the 2nd round (2nd seed) vs having to go on the road for the 1st round (5th/6th). Hopefully the Lakers can get home court at least in the 1st round (3rd/4th). _________________ When reasonably possible, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. I haven’t seen a completely committed effort by the GM for the last 2 off seasons nor the last 2 trade deadlines. What is going on? |

Lot of the West teams are starting to win. Warriors, Wolves, Grizzlies and Rockets have won 4 or 5 straight. Lakers could fall to 6 easily given the tough schedule and injuries. I think the goal is to not be in the play-in at least, but we could fall far in a 5 game losing streak. |

wolves will go up the standings, only 6 games remaining vs 0.500 and above teams, they even beat the Nuggets. If Lakers will not be careful, they might go into the play-in with wolves and warriors having an easier schedule. They should not be complacent. |

I'm very fearful of being a play-in team and this fear probably clouds my judgement but with absolutely no confidence since there are so many health concerns, but with Coach and a team that is playing well, I will say we'll avoid the play-in, or maybe I'm saying I hope we do. _________________ Hey Doge, ever hear of “measure twice, cut once?” It is not cut first and measure later. |

Well yesterday's Injury report does not help our case. DFS might help, but dont know to what extent. _________________ Indianapolis Colts

If Luka is still working his way back from injury and is capable of more stinkers against bad teams like BKN, this level of collapse may actually be possible.
The Lakers are really hurt right now, and it's alarming that the Lakers just don't show the sense of urgency to take care of business against teams like BKN. They're not going to win many games against good teams while hurt, so it's really alarming that they couldn't at least beat BKN during this stretch.
They have to beat both PHX and SA at the very least.
Let's see if they have that sense of urgency. Because even when they were playing well, they still dropped games to UTA and CHA. |

We're not going to be winning many games with damn near our entire frontcourt unavailable. The sooner we get some bodies back, the less worried I will be. Until then, we're in danger of dropping every game. |

Quote: | That's three straight losses for the Lakers, falling in MIL 126-106. The three teams behind them in the standings are all riding winning streaks: HOU (4), GSW (5), MIN (6). Big one in Denver tomorrow to end the road trip. |
