For any of you Mavs fans frequenting this site, welcome. Your GM did you dirty and you've been nothing but supportive to Luka. I can't imagine what you've gone through. You aren't bandwagon fans for cheering with us through the playoffs, you're welcome long term. Luka is special and here's to many years in LA.

Mavs fans are real ones. I can't imagine what they're going through. I'd feel like why am I still a fan of this team. I thought for sure Luka was going to be like Dirk and be a maverick for life, and win at least one championship

They darn near won it last year but hit a tough Celts team. Others may have formally rolled out the red carpet but it needed reiterated after this game.

With all my heart screw mavs fans.

1. Because of the piss poor treatment of AD and Max. It's been damn near three (bleep) months you whining pricks.

2. Stay with your (bleep) team. Dont be those (bleep) fans that leave when the going gets tough acting like that team isn't good when healthy. Acting as if they're a bottom dwelling team now.

Seriously (bleep) them. Acting as if they got scrubs in return.

I hope you guys blow it up and have Spencer lead that team to oblivion for six straight years.

I hope he does! Seriously 3 straight months of crapping on AD who's not even healthy. Screw them. i had sympathy for a month. It's drawn out now acting like it's the Iraq war.

When healthy.

Kyrie
Caleb
PJ
Naji
Lively
Ad
Gafford
Christie
Klay

Get another playmaker and they're a really (bleep) good team.

Go to their forums and you'd think it's the 2014-2015 lakers squad.

Screw that fanbase.

lol remember when they swept us in 2011 and Cuban bragged about how it was great to “send Phil out like that”? Or when Cuban worked to get the Chris Paul trade vetoed?

Both of those things are rather small in comparison to losing Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis and Max Christie.

This is not an accurate or fair characterization. Mavs fans have welcomed AD and Max. I saw ADs first game and the fans were cheering him before he went down. I understand how Mavs fans must feel and I empathize with them. Imagine if the Lakers traded Magic or Kobe in their prime. How would you feel? That’s what this is like for them. The love they showed for Luka and the fire Nico chants were not meant as disrespect for Max or AD. I think they understand that.

I know i wouldn't stop rooting for the team and bandwagon onto the team they went to.

I have no doubt there are a plenty of fans who'll never accept AD because they know what they lost in the trade. The podcasts/forum reddit all point towards AD being stuck in an impossible situation. He's never gonna amount to what Luka was for that team. And it's gonna get worse over there as well. That team is waiting to get blown up.

PJ getting mad at fans focusing more on fire Nico chants than how the team is doing.

AD isn't gonna be there for long. I hope he goes to the bulls.

What are you on about man? The Mavs trading Luka for AD is like us trading Kobe in 2002 for Chris Webber. It's an absolute betrayal of their fanbase. Luka was their present and future and they traded him away for an injury prone player that is 6 years older than him. Their entire window was shut closed in a whim. Why would anybody support that?

Naaah i ain't feeling that fanbase. Might not be a reflection of the fanbase in general but that fanbase in reddit and other forums can piss off.

Literally if anyone is even slightly optimistic about that team post trade they get shut down immediately.

I ain't feeling that not when Ad brought the team a chip. I couldn't care less about that franchise or fanbase.
All i want is for AD to go to a team that would be glad to have him. He deserves that. He's in an impossible situation with a fanbase thats imploding.

Compare to a 26 year old Luka, aging and glass AD and Max are scrubs.

What about Lakers fans piss poor treatment of AD upon his departure?

Chris Webber had just led the Kings to the WCF in 2002 and would have won the championship if not for an Horry three. AD has never done anything like that.

Dude we got Luka out of it of course we're celebrating

Im talking more about the way Mavs fans act as if AD is complete trash. That fanbase is imploding.

I've seen plenty of folks including myself praising AD for his time here. He won a chip. But the criticism is valid. He couldn't mantle the #1 so we went and got one.

Im an AD fan so it sucks to see him being handed a rotten deal. They'll always look at him and see Luka.

Come on man, AD is way better than Webber. I was actually selling AD a bit short with that comparison just to drive home the chasm between him and Luka.

That Kings team was more of an ensemble cast than a team led by one guy.

Post of the century

And you could tell it rattled AD big time. Sure we were doubling him and not letting him get easy post entry passes but he wasn’t playing with a motor. Something was mentally off there.

Really weird game - never seen that before. Actually I’ll get no respect for this post and take but I think Dallas plays or is trying to play a much better brand of basketball than we are. They had a number of things going their way - they had a mid post/mid range wing like AD who was drawing doubles off the ball and they have some really good 5s that can finish. Max looked really good. However they have no point guard, Dinwiddie is a joke for a PG and the team is completely different looking with a star like Kyrie at point. If you compare talent we cook them at the perimeter, as do most teams in the West but with Kyrie that entire balance would have changed. Our defensive tactics only worked because they don’t have a point/attack guard to make teams pay for doubling AD off the ball as soon as he moved into the mid range and mid post.

AD makes 60M and is a proven champ so I won’t say I feel sorry for him, but I do wish him well. Mavs fans are filled with Luka first zealots but that’s pretty much what you get when homegrow such a special scoring talent like Luka. Some fans become more about the player. He deserved the recognition pregame but the stuff during the game was disrespectful to the Mavs team that was trying to play for their home base. I personally could never cheer for an opposing jersey even in the worst of times during the Jim Buss era. Or Westbrook era. That said it’s their right and their fandom, so to each their own.

I don’t know what’s gotten into you, but I’m liking this energy. I lived in Dallas for a while, and trust me there’s a deep rooted bias against the Lakers. It’s not just casual sports rivalry either; it’s personal for a lot of people there. They’ll go out of their way to downplay anything positive about the Lakers and hype up any little misstep. I’ve talked to plenty of people out there who’ve straight up said they hope Luka leaves L.A. the same way Dwight Howard did, like they’re wishing it into existence. It’s wild how much space the Lakers rent in their heads.

The problem is I don't think they will have a star at point next season. Because an ACL tear, you'll need about a year before getting back to somewhat normal and even after that his lateral movement will likely be affected, which is a big deal for Kyrie.

They're probably a bust for next year at which point AD will be 34

I agree, drae. They’re stuck. That said, I would not cheer the opposing jersey. One thing if trading Luka broke up a dynasty. They had 0 rings in the Luka era and with their injuries this year and Kyrie while Luka would carry them further than AD/max in terms of rings it’s the same boat.

When we traded Shaq we broke up a team that won 3 straight and came off a Finals. Shaq won a title in 2 years. As much as it pained me to see Shaq win with Wade and Kobe Lakers lose or even go lottery I could never root for Shaquille or another jersey. Even then I could never imagine cheering for another jersey in a Lakers game. That’s just me. As I said to each their own. Luka fanboys from Dallas can do as they wish.

They are morons in my opinion. Why go to the game to cheer AGAINST your team? Jump ship to another team or find something more productive to do.

If they can ever get healthy, they will have a very good team.

You can get back in 6-9 months with some luck and proper rehab. I was playing 5 months after my ACL reconstruction.

If they're real fans, then they wouldn't abandon their team over a player. If Luka left the Lakers, I would still be a Laker fan.

The problem is I don't think they will have a star at point next season. Because an ACL tear, you'll need about a year before getting back to somewhat normal and even after that his lateral movement will likely be affected, which is a big deal for Kyrie.

They're probably a bust for next year at which point AD will be 34

You can get back in 6-9 months with some luck and proper rehab. I was playing 5 months after my ACL reconstruction.

Klay was out for the entire 19-20 season due to ACL rehabbing, but he tore it in the Finals which gives less time to recover. You can get back playing in 6-9 months, but to play well at the highest tiers of the sport I think it will take a year. Especially because Kyrie isn't young anymore either which affects recovery.
