Just more proof that Dallas fans are (bleep).
LEAVE AD ASAP!
Let them see how fun it'll be when they've got Dimwiddie leading that team to 6 straight lotteries. |

Nah, Nico and the new owner screwed them. They're extremely bitter and have every right to be. AD is copping unwarranted flak but this is the end of the Mavericks for a decade for real real.

3 months of crapping on a player who had nothing to do with it is (bleep) behavior. Acting as if he's trash is ridiculous. He's never gonna be accepted. He should go to a team that would love to have him instead.
I have no sympathy for dallas fans anymore.
I dont care how heartbroken you are over the trade. |

Everything is relative. Nothing exists in a vacuum. Saying AD is trash compared to a normal NBA player is incorrect, saying he's bad compared with Luka is pretty accurate. Especially in the modern NBA. |

AD is top 10 player in this league It's not accurate to call him a bad player compared to Luka. Luka is much better of course.
Again if thats the mentality. All the more reason to leave. They'll never accept him and he's far too great of a player to stay with a fanbase who'll never accept him. |

Laker fans asked that question many nights. That is why he never took the reigns from Lebron. AD was more engaged this year, but his lack of engagement was a real thing. Playoff AD was a real thing.. we had to wait for the playoffs to see monster AD. The problem with that strategy was that we were in the play ins year after year. We wouldn't be in the play-ins if Monster AD was a regular season thing. Combine that with Lebron's strategic coasting due to his age.. I'm happy those days are over. _________________ "The game is MORE than just one player. AD isn't a top 10 player in the league. He can't space the floor so you can't play him at his natural 4 position, and he can't take on the more physical centers one on one. He stops the ball. He isos in the midrange like it's the 1990s. He can't take over a game. His rim defense is neutralized by modern 5 out ball. |

ngl i'd be BEYOND livid as a Dallas fan watching that trash performance while the guy literally crying before the game is 10 times more locked in and goes for a near 50 point triple double while hardly breaking a sweat. They know damn well they're watching a final Season or two of possibly being good versus an entire Decade from a top 2 player. AD didn't give them too much to cheer for him either if we're being honest while Luka was delivering oohs and ahhs damn near every single minute he was on the court.
I personally know two life long Maverick fans and they both appreciate AD for sure but he's sure as hell never been and never will be at Luka's overall level not to mention the entertainment factor.. They went from must watch tv like Lakers are now to meh overnight. Ofc fans aren't happy....
You got Grimes and Brunson taken away from them stupidly as well so while the frustration is mostly about Luka it goes well beyond just him imo.
Thanks for the quotes though ocho, great as usual |

Same, I agree with that for sure! Selfishly i'd love to see him go to an East team (def. NO Celtics though!). He might not be quite that guy to become the all out franchise player especially at his age now but he can still be a massive part of a good Contender without question. |

AD most likely ask for a trade and maybe along with Kyrie and Klay this offseason...
Dallas can probably get multiple 1st for AD if they trade him this offseason... OKC and Knicks makes sense specially if both teams flame out in the playoffs. |

Nothing to do with Mavs fans. It's their owners and Nico being incompetent buffoons. Even Cuban said he wasn't consulted and would not have okayed trade, which tells you everything. They don't hate AD nearly as much as Nico. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.

Dallas fans are not (bleep). They're still in shock, especially after seeing Luka, and the way he played yesterday. They're still mourning about the trade. One of the process steps when grieving and in mourning is anger.
All I had to do is imagine our FO doing the exact same thing Dallas did and I'm filled with empathy for their fans. I said empathy, not sympathy. I'd be angry, hurt, and absolutely confused.
Hell, we're confused on this side of the trade and we're the beneficiaries!
"I hope the Lakers win" was a post by a Dallas fan. That tells you how deep the pain goes.
Excellent job as always, thanks ocho!!!! |

Right after he'd taken the team to the Finals. Without notice and without trying to get maximum value in return.
I'd probably go on hiatus. Those poor fans. And lucky us. |

AD got the same hate with Laker fans when you picked out random comments. AD plays a very unspectacular game that generally is less visible and can come off as passive. He doesn't have the raw power that leads to rim-rattling dunks like Lebron or the flare of a Luka Doncic. In a game with more than 100 possessions, it's easy to overlook the otherwise unmemorable open jumper, lay-in, or offensive rebound. He's "just" someone with a unique combination of size, skill, mobility, and length who can be relentless doing the dirty work of covering the court or dominating the boards on both ends while also being able to score in a variety of ways, albeit mostly unspectacular.
That said, he definitely doesn't have that alpha mentality and also posted some anemic numbers yesterday. Hard to say if he's still feeling effects of the injury but when you're replacing a mega-alpha like Luka, the fan reaction from last night isn't surprising. Doesn't help that they lost the closest thing they have to an alpha (Kyrie) for this and probably next season.
On another note, I so miss Christie. What stood out to me was the times he was able to stifle Luka 1:1 and that block on Vando's lob attempt right after having his ankles broken by Austin. Amazing recovery ability. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

Ad was great in NO. He was legit amazig and has been since high school. But with the miles on him now…his style leads to injuries. His frail frame does not help anymore like when he was younger and faster and could trust his body more and take more punishmet. We cant rely on him to stay healthy otherwise he is still a great player and a decent dude.
You never know knew when he would tweak something and these days a minor think took him weeks to return. Then he was inconsistant till his next injury.
And this is LA. If you can trade shaq you can trade anybodynot named kobe.
And luka is this gens magic. Even if davis was less injury prone, this would be a decent trade.
Trade still confuses me but cant complain. |
