Not Clippers. Funnily enough I am a stupidly optimistic Laker fan (no matter how bad the Lakers are on any given year, I’ll always think the Lakers are going to win the championship), but I’m also stupidly scared of the Clippers. Can’t help worrying about losing to them
Just like us, Clips are on a roll too. Clips and Warriors are the teams to stay away from. Definitely the Griz for me. _________________ JJ is the GCOAT, greatest coach of all time!

Tbh, I've never wanted the Lakers to avoid certain teams. Bring on the F'n best because we don't deserve a ring if we can't beat them. If we can beat them, bring on the next and the next and so on....

Clippers or Warriors would be great for travel.
I wouldn't want the Clips regardless. They've won 16 of their last 19, and their losses came @Pels (by 7 points) vs OKC (by 2 points) and @Cavs (by 5 points).
I'd prefer the Grizzlies, they seem the most discombobulated.

Kawhi may be a shell of himself, but I prefer to avoid him just in case he's able to return to his old form for a round or two. One of the scariest playoff performers since Kobe. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Yeah I answered Grizz on this poll (like apparently everyone else) but I don't mind any of the teams. If you are exposed by the Clips/ Warriors/ Nuggs/ Grizz (all of whom I think are pretty good teams!) then you weren't really a championship contender.
I think of it like the '08 Lakers who faced a bunch of 50 win teams in the playoffs, certainly all of them were good teams but a real contender like the Lakers didn't really struggle much. I don't think I remember caring who the Lakers played tbh since only the Celtics (and maybe defending champ Spurs) scared me

Our core probably has the least amount of reps by a good amount among all the legitimate Contenders. I'd personally much rather have a bit of an easier 1st round to get in a good groove and then just take on anyone in front of us after that.
Grizz or Minnesota would be great. Then the Nuggs and Warriors.
The Clippers are just flat out playing great basketball right now so i'd rather play someone else as the 3 seed 1st round matchup but I also still feel we're clearly the much better team and it would be nice to finally kick them out of the Playoffs while Kawhi is still there. So ultimately it doesn't really matter as long as we play anywhere close to what we've already shown we're fully capable of.
Regardless of who we get, it's just nice to feel genuinely confident against anyone in the West again!

Utah gave us a fair amount of trouble in the semifinals, led by Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer.
The Thunder gave us problems in the first round the year after. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
We are going to play the Tpups. They are beating MEM now, and will beat BKN and UTA to close out the reg season, ending up 49-33, 6th seed
GSW will beat PDX but lose to the Clips, going 48-34, 7th seed (have tie break versus MEM)
MEM losing tonight to Minn, will also lose at DEN, not sure what happens with their game against DAL sunday, but they end up with at least 34 losses, 8th seed
DEN beats MEM and HOU, with nothing to play for, go 50-32, remains 4th seed
BTW, if i am wrong about LAC beating GSW, we play GSW, oops.
MINN, LAC and GSW all end up 49-33, three way tie.
Breaker
"Tiebreaker Basis – Three or More Teams Tied
(-) Tie breaker not needed (better overall winning percentage)
(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division (this criterion is
applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division)
(2) Better winning percentage in all games among the tied teams"
MINN, GSW 1-3
MINN, LAC 3-0
4-3, MINN 5th seed
GSW, MINN 3-1
GSW, LAC 1-3
4-4, GSW 6th seed
LAC, GSW, 3-1
LAC, MIN 0-3
LAC 3-4, 7th Seed
The pups will have the best record in games among the three teams.

Seems like this is the most likely outcome. The GSW/LAC game seems like it will determine if we play GSW or TWolves. If Clips beat GSW the Lakers likely play TWolves. _________________ When reasonably possible, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. I haven’t seen a completely committed effort by the GM for the last 2 off seasons nor the last 2 trade deadlines. What is going on?

It's not about deserving or not. Not all championship teams deserve their rings. Matchup play a key role. The teams that got the most favorable matchup sometimes come out victorious.
If the Lakers didn't have to face the Nuggets in the first round last year, Lakers might have been celebrating their 18th championship right now.
I mean we could beat the Clips or Warriors in the first round but it would be much harder than beating the Griz. I like the easiest, no sweat route. Foston playing in the East literally got gifted a spot in the NBA Finals last year. But at the end of the day, people don't care how you won your championships. People only care if you won it or not. _________________ JJ is the GCOAT, greatest coach of all time!

You can be the best team and still lose because the East is a 1 series playoff. It's not an even playing field for any Western team and conserving energy will be a factor.
