Has to be GSW. These guys will be most vulnerable in the early stages of the playoffs. Have to take them out early. They are the one team where it could matter whether we face them early or late. Better to finish them off early while figuratively clenching your butt-cheeks to build the right habits early.

With tonight's game done, seems like our likely 1st round opponents are either Warriors or T'Wolves.

A series vs. GSW will be annoying.

I’d rather draw Minnesota but whatever, we should beat either team.

The issue is GSW is going to be dirty and take a pound of flesh even if we eliminate them.

How can you do a poll without listing the team that we are almost certain to play (MIN)?

Warriors, then Clippers/Denver winner for either ending Clippers fantasy or Nuggets vengeance, OKC to seal the deal that we are the best in the West, and then beat Boston in Game 7 in Boston to not just hope we are the best but to actually prove it.

The Lakers beat the Blazers, 140-109, for their 7th win in their last 10 games as they clinch the No. 3 seed in the West. Now they'll wait to see who their 1st Round opponent will be: GSW or MIN. JJ Redick wins his 50th game as a first-time head coach.

Looks like Dave pretty much confirms it. Need Flippers to win for us on Sunday.

Not totally sure the Clips will be all in on Sunday. Their only stake is HCA versus Denver it seems and they probably figure Denver handles Houston easily with Houston mailing it in. I wouldn't be surprised if they pull all their starters some time in the 2nd half once they check the Denver-Houston score.

EDIT: Never mind, the Clips and Warriors are basically playing to avoid the play-in so Clips will be all-in.

It could be the clippers too with 3 team tiebreaker. Minny goes to 5th

We aren't going to get many more Curry/LeBron clashes. It's a classic.

The Lakers lock in the 3 seed with their 50th win.

Their opponent in Round 1 could still be any one of three teams - Minnesota, Golden State or Denver - depending on Sunday’s results.

Trudell also says DEN also still in the mix, everyone with different answers. lol welp we'll find out on Sunday.

Believe it would be:

- Minnesota if MIN, DEN and LAC win
- Golden State if MIN, GSW and DEN win
- Golden State if MIN, GSW and HOU (who play DEN) win
- Denver if MIN, LAC and HOU win

Damn..50% chance with GS?! lol

Good.....take GSW early. If we cant take them out now, we would not be able to beat them later anyways and Im confident that right now, we would put them out. Take out GSW first and get an easier second round matchup to physically and mentally recover. Then get ready for OKC/DEN and CLE/BOS.

The GSW are playing the Clips, I think the winner gets 5th and the loser goes to the playin. It looks like… before thorough analysis…Minny will be the Lakers 1st round opponent.

Even if the Warriors beat the Clippers, they cant move ahead of LAC at this point.

It does look like 1 scenario allows it if all win but clips. It still appears the GSW will be the Lakers opponent 1st rd tho.

Ultimately Im glad GSW will be on our side of the bracket....whether we face them first or likely in the second round. Pros and Cons either way. Easiest time to face them would be first. But Houston could do us an unlikely favor if they are #7. But I do lean towards preferring to have them first ourselves.

Best scenario.

If you erase all scenarios above that involves either Denver or Wolves losing, then it's much simpler. I'm going to assume they are not going to lose. Because Rockets are not playing anybody against the Nuggets, and the Wolves got the Jazz. So it's down to these 2 scenarios...

IF GSW/MIN/MEM/DEN win: DEN (4), MIN (5), GSW (6), LAC (7), MEM (8)

IF LAC/MIN/MEM/DEN win: DEN (4), LAC (5), MIN (6), GSW (7), MEM (8)

^^^^ LAC and GSW BOTH on our side of the bracket would be problematic. So I guess its root for the Clippers then. Its interesting because the Warriors will prefer the #2 seed to the Lakers but wont risk playin to do so. Hence, LAC beating GSW in a game they want to win will be a nice bonus for us and soften them up more in which case we have to hope HOU takes them out.

What a huge game... Clips at GS.
