Can someone knowledgeable please say what’s up with possibly converting one of these guys so he can be on the lakers playoff roster?
If not is there still time to?
Or, did the lakers decide to stand pat with Morris, Len and Shake?
Seems like Jemison or Koloko would be more useful than those guys.
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.
Markieff is better than them. And in a spot can hit shots or play without worry. He produced vs the Pacers, Nuggets, Bucks, and Blazers. He also stood Joker up multiple times when Koloko couldn’t in Denver.
Shakes deal is not guaranteed to a certain date this summer so he’s cap filler for a trade with a team if they want to add him and a team cut him and save money.
Len was signed by the lakers but turned down a pacers deal and to cut him when he’s not playoff eligible for anyone is bad business and something they won’t do as a front office
Jamison and Koloko won’t play in the postseason and shouldn’t have been expected to play either. They have Bron. They have Rui. They have DFS. They have also if you watched the recent games been playing for 2-3 min increments with Vando at the 5. And they have Hayes. They will just keep those two as 2 ways and convert or cut them sometime next year

Len... 6 fouls in a flash the other day was comical. Lets hope we don't even need to use Len in any real moments. _________________ "The game is MORE than just one player. How do you regress from averaging 11 points a game and 5 to 7 rebounds with decent efficiency 49/36/65 splits at 24 years old, to this with 7 more years of experience under his belt.
It's like he's suffering from some neuromuscular ailment to deteriorate that badly.
It's not like a Ben Simmons situation because there's zero expectations or pressure on him.
All he has to do is play like a competent backup and he can't even come close.

@Kblo already hit some points and answered your Q above, so I’ll just expand on them a bit with my post.
Converting 2-way players to standard nba deals had expired on April 13th. As a result, Koloko & Jemison are no longer eligible to play in the playoffs, but can still travel/practice with the team.
Jemison is currently on a 2yr 2-way deal, so he possibly occupies one of our 2-way slots next season, if we don’t convert him to a standard deal next season, as well.
Koloko’s 2-way deal was for 1yr however, and so he becomes our RFA (qualifying offer would be for the vet min if we choose to retain him and keep matching rights) this summer, where we still can offer him a 2-way slot again, since he remains eligible to sign it for 1 more year.
It appears that based off current standings of the concluded regular season, we project to have the 55th overall pick again in the 2nd round. Now let’s assume, we plan to roster 15 at the beginning of next season with both Jemison & Koloko occupying 2 2-way roster spots, then our drafted 2nd rounder can occupy the final 2-way spot if we elect to bypass using the Second Round Exception (SRE) to bypass giving that player one of those 15 roster spots.
Hope that answers it for you, not only for this postseason, but for next season as well. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

Lakers two-way players Trey Jemison III and Christian Koloko were not converted to full fledge NBA contracts before the regular season ended, so they are ineligible to play in the playoffs. However, both practiced with the team today and will be with the team for the playoff run.

A team source told ESPN the Lakers “liked the chemistry of the group” during the regular season and wanted to keep that dynamic together for the playoffs.
