Andrew Bird was great on Letterman. He played "Plasticities" from his latest LP Armchair Apocrypha. I recommend it highly. The Mysterious Production of Eggs was one of my favorites of 2005 and this album is a continuation of that excellence. A truly unique artist. Fantastic singer, violinist/multi-instrumentalist, and lyricist.

Cold War Kids played "Hang Me Up To Dry" on Conan. They also played it on Kimmel a couple weeks back. I like that song though, particularly the guitar on the chorus. Great tone. Their music sounds like a mixture of The Walkmen, Spoon, and The White Stripes.

Does this mean Spoon and The Strokes or do you just really like Spoon?

Check out this video on YouTube of a robot dancing to Spoon. It's one of the featured videos on there:

I guess they are developing the robot to interact with humans. It's supposed to be pretty sophisticated. The video is just funny though.

She's probably going to play "1 2 3 4" as that appears to be the first single. It's a fun song, but not one of the best cuts off the new album. She should've went with "I Feel It All" as the leadoff single. That song is a hit.

Edit: She played "1 2 3 4" and it was kind of bad. She looked either under the weather or jetlagged. Her voice wasn't on like usual.

You're better off watching this or this.

Thursday
David Letterman - Rufus Wainwright
Craig Ferguson - Tori Amos

It's early, but I am ready to say that it kicks ass. This is more like Kill the Moonlight than the last one was. I like that. My favorite is still Girls, but Kill the Moonlight is right behind it. One complaint I have is Ga ga ga ga ga (this will be the only time I write out the full title ) is way too short. I think it's under 40 minutes and no track runs over 5 minutes.

Edit: I haven't decided yet if any single track is a "Paper Tiger" or "Everything Hits at Once" but the album is strong overall. Britt has the coolest voice currently in modern rock.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

How awesome was Feist last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live? Link

Her voice was back in true sexy/sultry form (I don't know what happened on Leno). I'm going to marry her. Oh yes, she will be mine.

M. Ward brought Neko Case and Jim James (My Morning Jacket) with him to the Conan O'Brien appearance. They played a slightly slower version of "Chinese Translation" from Ward's Post-War LP. It was good.

Ward and James have toured together before and appeared on Austin City Limits backing up Bright Eyes. I think they are both better than Conor though.

I hear Ward is also helping Zooey Deschanel (my other gf ) with her first album.

M Ward was awesome on Conan. Just caught it on my dvr. It was a nice touch to bring along Neko Case and Jim James.

Helpful hit - if anyone is a mild fan of MMJ - they are a must see live act.
