I don't always drink beer. But when I do, I make sure it's a Dos Equis.

I'm not a big beer drinker, but like frijolero01 I enjoy a Dos Equis on occasion. I also dig Fat Tire or Thirsty Dog. |

Ah man, can't believe I forgot that.
I just recently had an ice cold pacifico with a lime while sitting in a hot tub outside while it was snowing. Best beer I've had in a looooong time. |

Why is it called "arrogant bastard"? Does it taste like empty confidence? _________________

Put simply, it's kickass. I have an issue with Stone's advertising, that being they question your manhood if you don't like it. But it's my favorite beer among those that are available year round. In my cellar right now, I have a case of Double Bastard (wow, I must be double manly), and a new case of Old Guardian Barley Wine. Hard to find the rare stuff around here, so I stock up when they come out.
For daily consumption, I drink Stone Pale Ale. For when I'm feeling I deserve it, Arrogant Bastard. And for special occasions I'll break out the Double Bastard or Old Guardian.
My wife and I recently took a tour of the Stone brewery in Escondido. Got to sample everything, and they have a great bistro. You should check it out, but at the very least, try their brews. Best way to get into it is in this order:
Pale Ale (Levitation if you want to start lighter): Good, balanced, "normal" everyday ale. Still stronger than the big breweries put out (usually lagers), and a lot better.
IPA: Start to appreciate bitter.
Ruination: Drown in the bitter.
Arrogant Bastard: Balance bitter with malt.
Smoked Porter: Different. Good for a porter. IMO a good introduction to...
Imperial Russian Stout: Very strong, an acquired taste like AB and Ruination. Try it with cheese. Available around April.
Other special releases (once a year like the Imperial):
Double Bastard: AB re-brewed. Everything is stronger, but still in balance. Amazing. November.
Old Guardian: Heavy malt. Like how Ruination takes the hops about as far as one can go, so does this one with malt. Sweet. Up to 12% ABV and available only in 22oz bottles, so be careful. Right now, I think this is my favorite. February.
Vertical Epic: Not my favorite. I prefer the beers they brew with a simple ingredient list: barley, hops, yeast, water. This one adds spices. Great on first sip, but overwhelms me by the end. Available X/X/X, where X = the current year (this year's will be out 08/08/08).

I'm a beer geek. Anything from Stone, Hair of the Dog, Anchor, Victory, Dogfish Head. I love IPAs. Plus, a good belgian ale never hurts.

Wow, that's a lot of different beers. I saw a few AleSmiths recommended at the Stone Bistro, and have been itching to try them, but I can't find any near where I live. Any idea where I can get a distribution list? _________________ Nerd rock in progress.
