Here's my ratebeer profile with all my ratings listed: http://www.ratebeer.com/View-User-7692-1-4.htm
You can see all my beers rated in order. |
Wow, that's a lot of different beers. I saw a few AleSmiths recommended at the Stone Bistro, and have been itching to try them, but I can't find any near where I live. Any idea where I can get a distribution list? |
I'm not sure about Alesmith's distribution. According to ratebeer.com it can be found in Arizona, California, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania. I love their IPA's though. Happy hunting.
Have you tried Three Floyd's Brewing Company? They are located in Munster, Indiana and have an awesome beer line-up. |

Thanks for the tip! Under other circumstances I might write off a brewery that bothers with an "American mild" or wheat. But ratebeer.com has them as the #2 brewery in the world, and they're right around the corner from me. Think I'll give them a try. _________________ Nerd rock in progress.

Black and Tan (with Bass, not Harp's)
Black Butte Porter
Widmer Heffeweisen
Old Tadcaster Oatmeal Stout
For places I can't get the above:
Mac and jacks
Heineken

More of an ale fan, myself:
Bass
Guiness
Black and Tan (see above)
Smithwicks
Stone (various selections)
Although I do enjoy some Mexican lagers in the summertime:
Modelo Especial
Dos Equis
Tecate |

Yes Really. Bohemia is a type of Brazilian beer. The beer you're citing is modeled and named after Brazilian beer and exported by a Mexican company to America.
Calling Bohemia a Mexican beer is like calling a Mexican manufactured Volkswagen Jetta a Mexican automobile. _________________

That's like saying Widmer Hefeweisen is a German beer and not a North American beer because it is modeled after a German wheat beer. Just because a beer is modeled and named after another beer from another country doesn't make it a beer from that other country. The beer I cited is brewed and under the control of a Mexican brewing company, and therefore it is a Mexican beer. There are other "Bohemia" beers from Brazil, like you stated, and they are still produced and are indeed Brazilian. But the original poster was most likely speaking about the Mexican Bohemia, and not the Brazilian Bohemia.
And your car analogy doesn't hold up. If a brewing company licenses another country to brew their beer, then it would be valid. But we are not talking about Brazil licensing their beer. We are talking about an independent Mexican brewing company brewing their own beer. |

I drank it in Mexico and assumed. Guess we know what happens when you assume. Thanks for the info. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

That's very good. Samuel Smith Winter Welcome is the absolute best beer I've ever had. They also make a good Organic Ale, Pale Ale, Oatmeal Stout.... all of them really.
Quilmes (Argentina)
Murphy's Irish Stout
Sam Adam's Boston Ale
Superior Ale (I had it once in Duluth, MN - very good) |

Depends on what it's for
Good just everyday beer
Miller Lite
Bud Lite
Coors
Occasional beer if it's there
San Miguel
If not
Heniken
Beer Pong
Natural Ice
Old Milwaukee
Beer Bong
Natural Ice
Miller Lite
Bud Lite
Coors
Good 40 or quart depending where you live
Old English
Good beer to add liquir in
Corona Extra with Bicardi O
Miller chill with Bicardi O
I don't drink beer unless it's the only option but have been drinking Coors because of the mountain turning blue when it gets cold, I mostly drink Fundador because it's at my house and friends house. Very good Brandy.

I don't drink much beer (very un-Canadian, eh? ) but when I do have one while out with friends or at a party I don't mind a Molson Canadian, Sleeman Cream Ale, Rickard's Red, Alexander Keith's or a Labatt Blue. Not sure if you guys have even heard of any of these though. |

Yup, had 'em all (I spend a fair amount of time in the great white north). Is it true that with the sale of Molson, Canadians are now back to drinking Labatts as the "canadian" beer? It was going quite the other way for a while, but I've noticed a definite switch. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. I'm not sure there is a "Canadian" beer to tell you the truth. As far as I understood it Molson's and Labatt's are like Coke and Pepsi...if there isn't any of one you just go with the other. I could be wrong of course because I'm basing this on my own experience and observations.
Boy, could I go for an ice cold brew right now! |
