I was so freaking steamed with the Lakers Fans last night at the staples center. They gave them yellow shirts to wear and they put the shirts on their shoulders . WTF type of (bleep) is that ? I seen UTAH and Denver fans mostly all have their team shirts on. If I were one of the laker players, media people or someone I would put them on blast in the arena "he we gave you the shirts to wear tonight . not to have them over your shoulders. show some team spirit jerks."

Eh, the Laker brass should know better than to try to get LA fans to wear those shirts. Like it or not, going to Laker game is an event...something that most people think about what they are wearing before they get to the game. At least those spending a fortune by sitting in the 100's. Doesn't mean they are any less of a fan...it's just different. In the 80's, I remember them giving out rally towels. People seemed to like those. I think they should bring those back.

Wearing the shirt or not doesnt make you more of a fan!

And if we need our fans to wear those shirts to push us over the top, we have the wrong players. DEFENSE, STEALS, BLOCKS thats what gets STAPLES ROCKING.

And last night, IT WAS ROCKING.

Turnovers, bad shots, lack of effort, that is what makes Staples quiet. We have knowledgeable fans, who understand the game. There is a reason we dont hang pacific division banners.

People would be more likely to wave the towels than wear the shirts. I remember going to a lot of playoff games last year wearing my authentic Kobe road jersey (which cost me a lot of $). They then gave me a $2 t-shirt and asked me to wear it over my jersey. I was

I put the shirt on though.

Sorry, but I wear my gold pullover to EVERY playoff game -

And no one is making me take it off or cover it.

Not even the Sacramento thugs that jumped me after Game 7 in 2002.

Staples center fans are {deleted by alpha... see note below} for not putting the shirts on. Every other stadium in every sport has their fans wearing the free shirt given to the game during the game.

{watch the personal attacks as some have already obviously disclosed that they attend games.}

You have to understand, a lot of Utah and Denver fans show up without shirts. A lot of them don't even have pants. Getting the free t-shirt is a really big deal for them.

you expect the glitzy LA fans to put on a $10 t-shirt over their $1000 outfits?

I am so freaking sick of people who don't go to Staples complaining about Staples fans. Hey, I was there and put on the shirt, but I should note it was the exact shirt they gave out for Game One against Houston, and we remember how that one went.

They DID give out towels for one of the Houston games (I think Game 5), and people waved them somewhat, but what really counts to me is the fan enthusiasm, which started low on Tuesday (too early of a start, frankly) but certainly built and was sustained throughout the last three quarters.

My personal opinion is that all the anti-Staples rants are mostly fueled by jealousy. I guarantee that nobody could have conceivably cheered harder or louder than I did last night (he said hoarsely).

I already had a badass Laker shirt on.

If you already wearing a tight-ass Jersey or some Old School give away shirt (I like to rock the 2004 Destination Finals shirt) your not gonna change.

Lighten up.

I was rocking my GO LAKERS giveaway shirt from the HORRY SHOT GAME!! Kcal 9 on the back from 2002. That is my playoffs only good luck shirt!! Destination finals is a good one as well.

I'm not saying that there's a lack of success. It's just that it'd be similar to another team's tradition. We've done it in the past though so it wouldn't be a big problem.

yeah. I'm pretty slim. I wear medium sized t-shirts. I can't wear the XL, XXL, or XXXL shirts that they hand out. They should hand out that Laker T-shirt that Becks was wearing last year. I would definitely wear that.

I realize that it'd cost more money....
