Dark City - Came out before The Matrix but was essentially ignored. The Matrix had better CG but Dark City had a superior story.

Equilibrium - It's about a dystopic world where all emotions are controlled using drugs. It stars Christian Bale and it is quite a good movie.

Cast Away - Very well-done. I honestly felt Tom Hanks should have won the Oscar over Russell Crowe.

Unbreakable - Extremely underrated. One of Shyamalan's best films with great performance by Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson.

Matchstick Men... I would assume most people on here hated it because of Nicolas Cage, and everyone seems to be a huge fan of his.

Well, all 4 of you should check it out.

Two relative losers/geeks (Anthony Edwards/Mare Winningham) meet and dig each other. Edwards finds out through a fluke that nuclear war is going to break out within the hour. Despite having just recently met Winningham he scours the city for her looking to get out of the city on his buddy's helicopter before the nukes strike. Word of what's coming starts to leak out and the streets of LA start to get crazy. Along the way there's interactions with carjackers and gay bodybuilders. It actually reminds me a bit of Scorcese's After Hours. And of course it all takes place in the Miracle Mile, so it's fun to watch the rioting scenes if you live in the area.
