Nobody has mentioned Bill Murray? I think the most succesful of the sNL actors at least comedy wise. The orignal cast was the golden era, and there have beeen bright spots along the way, but nothing beats the orignal team with Belushi, Chevy, Murray, Akroyd, Gilda, Jamie, Lorraine, Garrett, with frequent host Steve Martin.

I agree.

I agree.

Steve Martin, Tom Hanks and Alec Baldwin are the best hosts and any cast that was blessed to act with them should be high on the list of "most funny", by default.

With that said, I don't think Bill Murray was especially funny on SNL. Not moreso than the cast in the early to mid 90's. His post SNL career outshines any cast member though. I'll take any Murray movie over any Farrell, Belushi or Myers movie.

If I had to pick just one, I'd go Carvey.

Greatest SNL cast members all time (imo): Carvey and Hartman.

Post SNL movie work, I like Aykroyd and Murray's stuff. Trading Places fave movie w/ any not ready for prime timer.

Belushi and Farley were most naturally funny imo. Norm and Carvey best stand-ups.

Least fave post SNL: Sandler and Dennis Miller, he's a smart guy, just naturally annoying.

Fave SCTV cast member: John Candy

Eddie Murphy, Delirious > Norm and Carvey combined. Although I do think both those guys are funny.

I agree with this as well. Nothin better than the original cast imo.

Eddie was the man, hands down.

Other faves include:

Will Ferrel - Just overall hilarious
Phil Hartman - Great comedic actor
Will Arnett - Starting to make some funny noise
Tina Fey - Her writing and timing is excellent
Joe Piscapo - His Sinatra is classic
Billy Crystal - His Sammy was hilarious
Molly Shannon - Great facial experessions
Chris Kattan - His Monkey Boy was hilarious
Farley - His physical comedy rivals Chase, Carey, and Ritter

I doubt many people will say Belushi as they can't remember ever watching him.
