Yamamoto has barely scratched the surface and he’s already been so good. I have no doubt he can be the best pitcher in the mlb. He will continue to struggle here and there this year but I can’t wait to continue to be apart of his journey.

I think a lot of people forget how good he really is.

Not just for team, but for him personally I hope he is physically OK because he is a true ace when he is.

One of the best teams he could return against. He should be able to go pretty deep.

In former Dodger news, Julio Urias pleads No Contest to his DV charge.

3 years probation
1 year of DV counseling
30 days community service

Also likely to get an MLB suspension, if he's ever given another chance

I could see him getting another shot but almost certainly not this season. I say that because we've seen DV-associated players get another shot, such as Marcell Ozuna of the Braves. With Bauer, he's practically associated with rape, even though he wasn't even ultimately charged with anything. Still, that's the association, and I doubt he ever gets another chance. Being associated with rape/sexual assault is really tough to come back from. As would being associated with underage sex (Felipe Vazquez and Wander Franco).

Real question that cannot be answered: How much of Bauer being blackballed has to do with the incident vs his quirks, personality, and "abrasiveness"? It would be naive to not at least acknowledge it has some part in that.

I do think you're onto something about guys being given additional chance(s) for DV assault/battery incidents vs those involved in sexual-related incidents. Anything on that spectrum is already reprehensible, so aside from anything involving minors, I don't know why a team would be "okay" with one over another.

I think it's mostly that at this point. I know he was the most vocal person about the "sticky stuff" when no one wanted to talk about it (turns out he was beyond right). Locker room lawyer types don't just not sit well with teammates...ownership hates those kind of guys. With his baggage, lot of teams might just feel he's not worth it.

If Urias doesn’t get another shot, something is wrong with the current environment.

He shouldn’t lose his entire career over this.

Even convicted felons get to re-enter the workforce in normal society.

I thought he might be on the move, I just didn't think it would be this early. Damn.

Padres love their infielders, especially SS and 2B.

Let’s see who they have now:

Quote:
SS Kim (playing SS)
SS Bogaerts (playing 2B)
SS Tatis (playing RF)
SS Machado (playing 3B)
SS Jackson Merrill (playing CF)
2B Cronenworth (playing 1B)
2B Arraez (now playing?)

Who else?

Nice to see some real growth in his second season. The ERA is at 4.06 now.

Dodgers down 3-2 top of the 10th. Dodgers are terrible in extra inning games.
