you guys....im worried about all the firepower the mavs have. our guards cant seem to make a shot. shannon brown and blake are killing us. i cant believe i want to see farmar more than anything this year....and i hate him as a player. who concerns me is grasshopper shawn marion. he gets into the middle of the lanes and cleans up the glass. who blocks him out. i think he is key....we must block him out. his energy really helps the mavs and then jason terry....no one on our team can seem to guard him. those are the two players who i think are key. gasol must play big. he is letting every power forward out play him. even in big games. gasol, odom and bynum must play big because chandler will. he comes with the energy each night. the key is energy for our team. they cant play at the same level they play atlanta at....they have to raise it a notch.
You Farmar fans need to let it go. The Lakers wouldn't be better off with his ballhogging and gunning. It'd just be him and Shannon Brown fighting over the ball. At least when Blake struggles he's not a ballhog.
I use to think this way too. I really liked that Mitch signed Blake over the summer. But the fact that he plays so passively is extremely detrimental to the performance of the second team, and this problem is only exacerbated by Brown's horrible shot selection. Brown and Farmer worked because their ballhogging somewhat cancelled each other out. At least you would get shots divided evenly between the two ballhogs. Now, when Blake doesn't make the pass into the post, I can almost guarantee you that Shannon will take two dribbles toward the basket and then a long long fade away two pointer.
shannon thinks he's kobe 2.0. maybe that's his role when he's on the floor. dude doesn't have the i.q. to survey the floor, just myopic w/his shot. i think that's why dude has been passed around the league. has some basketball skills, but not the head to match.
blake, his shot is piss poor for a guard. _________________ 'How many kids can say growing up that they'll turn pro and play for their favorite team in the world and spend your entire career there? IT'S BEEN A DREAM!'-Kobe Bryant 11.29.15
Cannot afford to let the Mavs stay in the game. How things have been going, it's not to the Lakers' advantage to keep games close.
It's similar to Boxing. You have to dominate to the point of obviousness. You always get screwed if you keep the fight close and leave it up to the officials to make the right calls. Makes room for speculation that the sport is dirty.
I get the feeling this is another game where the opponent needs it more then us. I know we want it too but teams get extra jacked up for us and Dallas is trying to hold on to that #2 seed. Even if we lose this game I still think we can catch Dallas. One positive is this is Dallas' 5th game in 7 days. Fatigue might be a factor. I will be pleasantly surprised if we pull this one out. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
Tonight's LAL - DAL game means more since the teams play only 3 times. Tiebreaker on the line: http://on.nba.com/hFMuR6 _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

True and worth noting...but this is also the same franchise that has choked each time under pressure. The more they "need" to win, the more likely they flop.
This could be for the tie-breaker (with the next meeting at Staples on the 31st). When stakes are high, Lakers play right.

I'd say that the minimum-post-requirement, disallowing a separate topic about these horrid uniforms to be made, worked to perfection. That's what I thunk. _________________ https://psntrophyleaders.com/user/view/tenike1

How the hell is this game not on ESPN? Oh, I forgot, March Madness....damn college hoops. Guess I'm heading out to the casino to catch it in the sports book. Not watchin this one on the horrid online links.
Links anyone? I have league pass, but I have to go to my brothers place tonight who doesn't even have cable (I can't stand watching online). The game is blacked out on league pass broadband.

I'd feel a lot better about our season and this game had Jackson not made the tactical error of not making Bynum's post game a priority throughout the season. his offense is actually feared around the league as much if not more than Dallas. His offense moved teams like OKC, Boston and Dallas to shore up their front lines with bigs. And now his offense is rusty because he's the last option on offense, even among reserves apparently not named Steve Blake.
