Dave Matthews Stairway to Heaven, Just Bad

Johnny Cash doing Hurt. The song was good, the video was the best that has ever been made.
Totally forgot about that. It turned out much better than the original. It was also Johnny's last single.

I personally like this version of Bob Marley's Redemption Song.
When it comes to covers of "Redemption Song", it doesn't get better than Joe Strummer and Johnny Cash.
I love that version too, because I'm a fan of both guys, but I think Cornell's was better.
BTW, I love Redemption Song. I've been trying to get all the versions around. I got 10 so far. They include: Chris Cornell, Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer, Joe Strummer alone, U2, Ben Harper, Pearl Jam, No Use for a Name, Reaçao em Cadeia, and others. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

Wyclef Jean has a cover of that as well. If you don't own it, PM me. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

I hadn't heard that one, thanks for the link. I will try to download it. I'm not sure it is better than the original, but it is definitely worth listening to. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

some of my favorites:
Metallica - Die, Die, Die My Darling (Misfits)
Metallica - Last Caress/Green Hell (Misfits)
Metallica - Tuesday's Gone (Skynyrd)
Metallica - Astronomy (Blue Oyster Cult)
Metallica - Whiskey in the Jar (Dubliners)
Metallica - Ecstasy of Gold (Ennio Morricone)
Boyz II Men - In the Still of the Night (Five Satins)
Boyz II Men - Yesterday (Beatles)
Boyz II Men - Mercy, Mercy Me (Gaye)
Boyz II Men - Ribbon in the Sky (Stevie Wonder)
I've always loved Neil Young's " After the Gold Rush" and his cover of "Oh Lonesome Me" is one of my favorites.
I remember the 'redneck' version but somehow I never thought about the original while listening to Neil's version. His version was totally different and much much better.
ventura, i heard pearl jam covering the who -not only baba o'riley but also the kids are alright- in several concerts... you can find both them in the seattle concert, november 6 2000...
I saw Kevin Gilbert do The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (The Genesis Classic) not to long before he died.
(Larry: If you don't know how he died, message me...)
THE Good:
Social Distortion doing:
Ring of Fire
Under my Thumb
NOTE: I love Hendrix's "All along the Watchtower" but another interesting version was done a year or so ago by Byan Ferry and Robin Trower plays guitar in it...
also good: Social Distortion- Pretty in Pink
No Doubt- It's my Life
Echo and the Bunnymen- People are strange
Dick Dale- Ghosts Riders in the Sky
AFI- Last Caress/My Michelle
Tavares- More than a Woman
bad: Sheryl Crow- Sweet Child O Mine
Alien Ant Farm- Smooth Criminal
Marilyn Manson- Personal Jesus
Celine Deon- You Shook me all night long
Hillary Duff-Our Lips are sealed. _________________ Thank you, Kobe. We love you.
